why i cant keep up on gamespot.

its summer yeah. i have tons of time yeah. probably too much. but heres what i try to balance:
an ebay account, where i go through insane bidding battles to win items.
a torn city account, where i trade stocks, bid on items (yes, again) and am a CEO of a company, meaning i must keep items in stock, prices in check, try hard to make profit, and search for employees.
a flick account. i upload near 100 images each month, and to add titels, tags, and description to them all is overwhelming.
My friends recently convinced me to get a facebook; i now do pointless things there too.
but most of all... i have a youtube EMPIRE. im off for 12 hours, and ive recived 30 mails from youtube alone. i LOVE making videos, and have posted 130 in a little over a year. i have fans, and watch tons of videos. happy?
also, of course, i have to play through these games, and write the review XD. it will be harder when im no longer doing atari ones.
Here... We... Go... Again...

a rant on reading, and "hobbies" as they are called. i would like to get two things established before i start:
1 you could still say i have a life, just not an incredibly large one. i have minor hobbies
2 no, i am not on crack.
i wish to start with my smaller topic of hobbies, so i can go out with the bang. Its defiently not bad to have a hobby, but what i truely can't understand is why things like gamespot and in all honesty, games themselves aren't considered hobbies. many things, such as reviewing games, arent considered hobbies, or even productive, because they are in front of a computer screen. this goes for games, today, even though many, if not most people are becoming at least casual gamers.
But lets think about this.
Thousands of schools (i know this is gonna sound crazy, just read it!) do points for reading books. yeah, i admit learning reading is DEFIENELY good. you gotta know how to read! and the way they teach it is just right. but after, like 5th or 6th grade, everyone knows how to read. so why must they read 150 pages a quarter/trimester?
know whats true? books can take you places. but where? to a far off land. thought of by someone else. with no visuals. SO THATS WHERE IMAGINATION COMES IN RIGHT?! no. you are to be VERY discriptive while writing. if not, your book is usually critisized. so thats like discouraging other people to be creative? hm...
i still encourge writing though. that flexes creativity to huge levels. i have written a hundred page novel myself, and let me tell you, your creating, so your working your crativity and imagination.
now lets caompare books to games:
books are creativity... but the creativity is someone else's.the creativity.has already come and passed, and has been laid out for you to take in THIER ideas, not your own tocome up with.
games: also somebodys imagination; but theres room for yours too. because its limitlessly interactive. you can do side stories, or even think of your own ministory while playing. one game that really gets you thinking is morrowind, or any open ended game like that.
gamings not a hooby, just like reading isnt. but why do people not consider gamestop reviews hobbies. many people consider book reviews hobbies... its just because thier reviewing video games isn't it?
also, as i said before writing flows creativie and imaginative juices. surely writing reviews gains you bits of writing experience?
they even make you write book reviews in school. so what would be wrong with writing game reviews?
so at this point i challenge someone to try to tell me why writing game reviews is not a hooby, and not "good." cause its on a computer screen? get with the times. my only "hobby" is on here, which is making youtube videos.
Bring it on last genereation people. bring it on.
My dumb (guess i cant put tarded+re?) adventure

it happened yesterday. my brothers 360 mike went out (probably because microsoft is so incredibly cheap) so he was going to gamestop. i decided to come with. I dashed to my room, and grabbed 20 bucks from my dresser. i ran out to the car, where the first delays started.
well, something was up with the car when we turned the key, so my brother went to get the spare. it took 5 minutes to find the thing. we were now on the road, (in his awesome rave party of a car,) and eventully arrived at gamestop.
When we arrived, he told me "be quick, i wanna get home fast, you got 2 minutes." he went browsing for mikes. i went to the ps2 section, and to my dismay, most socom mikes were gone. however, i found one left, buried behinde multitaps and controllers, and even against my better judgement to avoid such a huge price tag of 10$, bought it (omg, wth just happened to my font?) Of course, although my brother says i only have 2 minutes, i am waiting to check out, and after 5, he was still browsing. Just as he was about to make his purchase, a friend of his comes through the door. They chatted for 15 MINUTES. i browsed every ps2 game. then every gamecube game. every psp. xbox. gba. 360. ps3 (which i dont even own. i was finnaly fed up and headed to the car.
i waited another few, nd seeing a taco bell nearby, decided to grab some nachos. as soon as i got out of the car, my brother comes out of the store, acting as though he is going to leave, so i get back in. they chat for another 3 minutes, so i thought "screw it, im getting nachos. i got out of the car, and then heard him say, "bye." so i got back in again. of course, when he got back in, i told him how he twice foiled my plans to buy some nachos, and instead of driving there, he just said "well thats too bad"
so, no nachos, and a mike that im not even sure will work anymore. at least things liifted when i got home. i figured out, that some ps2 games with the mike, still operate online. i also figured out, that it works for a computer mic, STATIC FREE! who would figure? some actual good luck.
the new generation
by lancerhawk on Comments
I have to admit, i'm probably gonna sound like one of those old people who are against games, because it's something new. but i'm not. i love games. but not where they're headed.
Many people explain this as "because it's not what your used to, you don't like it", and although that may very welly be the case, it still gets at me.
"What is up with generation 7"?
Honestly people, my favorite system from this generation is the atari flashback 2, and that's just sad. i can't see a point as to why i should buy a 360, ps3 or wii. idk what to do when gamestop stops selling gen 6 things. i don't likw wii or any of it's games in general (other then mario galaxy) the PS3 dosn't have any good games, and good god, does the xbox360 have hardware/compatibility/service/gameing/crashing/everything problems. (too bad its the only system with good games!) since when was it so hare to do a bit of compatibilty people?! only a few ps3 models play older ps and ps2 games, and the wii (thankfully) plays gc games. but xbox360... O...M...G... why the every living F*^# does it have to be hard to play a damned xbox game??? first you need the f---ing hardrive which costs sixty bucks (as if i havn't payed enough money already for the system, you jerks!) then you need to download PATCHES??? WTF!
One thing i do like however, is the online stores. how you can purchase older (and exclusive) games to play on your new councel is great. but then again, if you system crashes, you have to buy everything back... and talking during gameplay pisses me off too. you use to look for a boss fight on youtube, and you could see it, uninterrupted. now, you look for the last level in halo 3, and theres "ub3r1337 gamer2" has logged in.
Ubergamer: h3y wats ^
stupid youtube player who should be just playing the level: nm u... duh...
and whats up with all the heavy start up interfaces? if i have a game in, skip your d@%ned menus, let me play the game in! which reminds me, what ever happened to tops you could open any time, like on GC and PS1? (i have worse yet to add! just a minutec ago, i was shutting off my brothers xbox, and i bumped a door while turning it on and opening the disk tray, and when i got up, i scrated myself bad on the door! now i can blam it for ripping my shirt too! bring back pop open trays, DAMMIT!)
basically, i could rant on for hours of why gaming is becoming stupid. bottom line: xbox, get less cheap, ps3 WTF HAPPENED? just do exactely what you did with the ps2! and nintendo PLEASE switch back to what gaming use to be: sitting there, with a controller.
