It is still a great player I was just wondering why it doesn't display in 1080p, only 1080i.

I'm thinking about getting one of these so I don't have to deal with the wire anymore but I wanted to know if it's good and what problems does it have, like does the connection drop from time to time etc... plus is it worth the $99 price tag. What r ur thoughts.

I still have mines but I'm thinking about selling it, I was just wondering what u guys did with urs, also how do u get movies to display in 1080p, all my games and everything else on my 360 displays in 1080p except for the hd-dvds, it goes to 1080i.

That shouldn't be too much of a problem b'cuz most of the games if not all support 1080i, so i don't no y it's downscaling to 480p.

Like I said before, I don't think u should have a problem displaying 1080p with the component cables,I'm getting 1080p and my xbox doesn't have an hdmi slot, I'm not using no adapter or anything special just the component cables that came with my 360. Q- when u go to your settings on ur 360 does it have the option to select the resolution to 1080p, If it does then as soon as u get ur tv, set the resolution to 1080p and that's it. It won't let u set it right now cuz u don't have a 1080p tv but when u get it u should b fine.

I have a 1080p sharp aquos 42" and I get 1080p through component cuz my 360 also doesn't have the hdmi slot, so u shouldn't need to worry about getting 1080p through component cables b'cuz it does work, and if I'm not mistaken I beleive one of the past updates for the 360 made it able to get 1080p through component cables but I might be wrong about that.

what i did was...

i turned on my ps3, then went to my computer and opened my network settings, and allowed media sharing. then i looked up on the list of available media sharing devices, i found my father's computer and a device with a wierd code (turned out to be my ps3's preset factory name). changed the option to have only my ps3 to share media, then i restarted my computer and my ps3. now i can view pictures, music, and movies that are stored on my pc through my ps3, as long as they are in a folder that is allowed to share its material. there is about a 5 sec lag between opening a file on my ps3 and it finding it on my pc, but still worth it :)

indian_playa
do u have a 40 gig, cuz that's what i have and I don't see no ps3 icon under my media sharing.

why is your ps3 standing next to the crappy tv? it deserves better!!

lol! I figured one of ya would say that, I'm thinking of getting a 20" smasung to replace that tv but until I do that I really don't have to much space for everything and I didn't want to put it where my 360 is b'cuz I think the ps3 gets better ventilation where it is now.
