OK so I purchased a new PC. Here are the specs:

Core i7 920 1366 Socket

MSI X58 Pro-E MoBo

6 GB G-skill ram (ran memtest about 12 times)

Powersupply is 650 watt (had it checked and running good numbers)

Ati Radeon HD 5850 XFX 1GB

1.5 TB Sata HDD

Im running Windows XP 32-Bit for now.

Ive installed windows for the second time now, hoping it was a bad install but it is not.

The computer is bogging(very slow) for simple operation tasks, like clicking ok and then waiting 5 seconds for it to close a window, trying to do

simple things like open a browser window may be delayed for about 5-10 seconds. I am trying MSI live update online for latest drivers, but it freezes up everytime it gets to the searchmainboard driver version. Do you all think this is a driver issue? Im having horrible luck, I am downloading service pack 2 right now, hoping that the windows updates will help, but its been on "perform cleanup" for about 15 minutes now...

SOS please help.

Okay, So I purchased a BFG GTS 250 1GB. It is replacing my XFX 8800 GTS 320MB. The difference between the two cards is not day and night, so I returned the GTS 250. Considering the current market for stock on the higher end 200 series cards is out of stock in almost every store I wentto and some announcements last year that Nvidia will be releasing their new series sometime in Q1 2010 (soon), I am going to hold off and wait for the new series to come out and then buy the midrange of whatever it is Nvidia is going to dishout. It is probably better off that I wait. I did however, pickup 2GB more ram for $45.00. I will get my day and night difference in the coming months I am sure.

After this statement and some conclusive research, I am probably going with the 5770. I did not compare the performance of the 5770 with the 250 or 260, I compared the price. And ATI is the best for price, and the DX 11 is a good thing. I just have to break my stubborn Nvidia Fan boy ways and cross that bridge.

Would an ATI Graphics card (5770) conflict with an Asus NForce Mobo? As well, is it worth the upgrade from a XFX 8800 GTS 320 MB??? Noticable difference?

And last but not least, Sapphire or XFX?

Thanks

OK, I will do my research on the 5770 tonight, the clerk selling them at the store was biased anyways, considering that he has 2 x GTX 295 SLI, so he claims.

This is way off topic, I just want to know if the cost difference between those 2 Nvidia cards is worth it performance wise. It is my preference to use Nvidia over ATI, im not bashing them in anyway. Its like Pepsi and coke or trying to get a Honda lover to drive a Chevy. The real question to be answered is either the gtx 260 or gts 250. I appreciate anyones help in making this decision.
