ALL ps3 games are region free, ALL.

i buy all my games from hong kong and sometimes canada and i live in ireland (which is pal). there is only 1 problem i have come across is that 1 game which was tony hawks project 8 had some lip sync problems with my sdtv but as soon as i got a hdtv it worked fine

make sure your tv can play ntsc games. download a demo from the us psn store and if the demo works fine then ntsc games will work for you

d_ano

not all ps3 games are region free, its up to the publisher. alot of EA sports games are region locked

yes it can . I presume you want to play some HD mkv files. the ps3 wont play them straight away. you will need to use mkv2vob to remix them together in a way that the ps3 understands. no re-encoding takes place so you don't lose any quality.

I was thinking it must be something with the game. Since not all games do it, it must have to do with the game itself. But I heard all kinds of crazy theories like 120hz Tv's eliminating screen tear.

I believe I heard that DMC 4 on the PS3 did not have the tearing problem while the 360 did. Hopefully screen tear will happen less as developers improve their performance.

I've got a 120 Hz TV :D. They are state of the art. To the TC, your screen tearing most likely is occuring from the kind of cable you are using. Your TV shouldn't be a problem at all, but either your PS3 or the cables you're using will affect the picture. If you are using AV, get component cables instead or if you have an HDMI input get a HDMI cable from www.monoprice.com for the cheapest prices available. Other than that, i'd give Sony a call. It takes some time to reach them but if you're lucky they have some awesome services and advice. Take it easy.

you cant remove screen tear with a cable or a 120 hz tv. its got nothing to do with the signal going through the a cable. its the game. some people just notice it more than others.

Screen tear is imposable to remove, it has nothing to do with your TV or cables and you are not getting it any more or less than anyone else. It has nothing to do with the ps3 hardware either. It has to do with the game engine being used.

Most games engines render the image in two sections, the top half and the bottom half and then join them together on the screen. Screen tear occurs when the two images become slightly out of sync. This process is called Vsync on the pc. But removing screen tear is extremely stressful on the hardware so most games have it disabled. bioshock has the option to enable or disable it on the 360. And is the only console game that I can think of that lets you turn it on and off

Create an account on a different country and use an international card.

That is what I did since there is no PSN in my country either (Uruguay).

huriona

Did you actually add funds to your accout? I've created a US account, but I cannot add any funds because when you are prompted for your CC billing info it automatically fills out the country from your account and there is no way to change it. Since you cannot enter the right billing address the transaction is not approved.

if you only add $5 at a time some card companies dont check the address. so u can use the US address.

[QUOTE="Swift_Boss_A"]Well it is obvious since PS3 was kinda the lead platformGreenGoblin2099

No, it was a PC game first then ported to 360 and PS3

Damn!! I don't even know where to start... :x

no, realy it was

http://www.digitalbattle.com/2007/12/12/dmc4-development-originally-began-on-pc/

I've read that... but it wasn't planned as a PC game. As they say it was originally intended for the PS3, and then they changed their mind. ;)

I'm not trying to point what the intended platform was. If you check you will see that all of capcoms games are PC games because there game engine tec is a pc engine. So all their games are pc games first by default and then ported:P
