[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="leonalabasters"][QUOTE="Brownesque"] No, I'm thinking like someone who refuses to acknowledge a claim as evidence.

What else do you want? Video's of Nintendo prototype Wii models directly from their labratories? lol. Grasp at straws much?

Um....no, I wanted evidence. You gave me a claim.

Keep repeating yourself no matter how foolish it sounds.

[QUOTE="leonalabasters"][QUOTE="Brownesque"] Thanks! Guess what? "Nintendo president Satoru Iwata explained the company's position on the matter, saying that a first-party, camera-based motion-sensing peripheral for the Wii was considered but ultimately rejected, as it did not perform better than the Wii's current accelerometer-based tech. " That's not evidence! That's a journalist reporting a claim offered by the president of Nintendo. I asked for evidence. Thanks again!Brownesque

It would make perfect sense that Nintendo tried out many different methods to accomplish motion control. Are you saying Iwata is lying? teh conspiracy! fanboys.... lol

No, I'm not assuming he's not lying. I'm just not assuming he's telling the truth. That's why I asked for evidence.

Iwata saying it is evidence enough. He's never blatantly been caught lying before about anything and he has no reason to lie. His comments may be fanboy fodder on this board, but they are not something that ever even reaches the general public or have any influence whatsoever on public perception. You're reading too far into this and thinking like a fanboy.

[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="leonalabasters"][QUOTE="Brownesque"] I never said you can replicate traditional videogame experiences with Natal, I'm more than aware that you cannot. But what Miyamoto said to me smacks of fanboyism. The technology is fantastic and he of all people should be able to appreciate that considering how imaginative he is.

Nintendo already tried and rejected the idea of using camera based motion control tech long before Natal or PS3 wand.

Evidence please.

He said that about the PS3 motion controller too? Haha, damage control. Regardless, jumping the gun there, people said similar things about the Wiimote... Seems rather silly of him to jump out there and say something so steadfast. rolo107
No pretty much just about Natal. The only reference he made to PS3 was when he addressed both Sony and MS, "it feels like they have finally obtained the very basic technology for doing motion control, but perhaps they still have to learn how to use that and take advantage of it in an interactive experience."

[QUOTE="Brownesque"][QUOTE="lucidflux"][QUOTE="Brownesque"]Damage control. I didn't know Miyamoto was a fanboy. I find it especially interesting that he says a comment directed at Natal and then neglects to exempt the PS3 motion controller which for all intents and purposes is the exact same thing as Wii Motion +. You can certainly perform a variety of interactive activities without a controller. Only some functions require a controller, and only some are better with a controller.

Like walking. Is everybody going to jog in place while playing a FPS? How about quickly turning 180 degrees?
