@Phazevariance: Why would someone who is not an Xbox fan not have the X1 already? The ones who haven't got an Xbox one would most likely choose a PS4, Neo or Scorpio because the S is Underpowered compared to them. I'm talking from a business side of things, you think MS are spending that much money to release the Scorpio so it does ok? They will have to take a hit on one of them.
Announcement of 2 consoles suprised me aswel, from a business point it doesn't make sense. The Scorpio is been released around a year after the S, why would I buy an S (when it's performance is on par with my original X1) then buy the Scorpio only a year later? I could understand if the Scorpio released 3 years after the S, Scorpio no doubt will cost more but alot of people will just give themselves a year to save for the Scorpio and can even trade in their X1 + cash to get the Scorpio. I think they would've been better off cancelling the S and just announce the Scorpio but no doubt it would cost them because of production costs etc
@greaseman1985: It all depends on how much the Scorpio is? If its around $500-800, most people won't buy the Xbox One S and the ones who can't afford it can just start saving up now. Console gamers are not as "peasants" as the "masterrace" like to claim, they always folk out if they feel a product is worth. It was a strange move business wise, that's what I'm saying.
Must be alot of dumb mfs for him to make a statement like that or he's trying to push sales of the Xbox One S!? I think it was stupid to announce Scorpio alongside the Xbox One S coz alot of people like myself will just wait for the Scorpio. I'll do the same with Sonys Neo if they release a slimer PS4 with less power than the Neo. It's great that we are getting upgraded consoles that will guarantee us 1080p on games especially in X1s case but I wish their ideas were saved for the next gen as we are already halfway through this current gen. I thought people finally accepted that each gen there will always be a console more powerful than its competitors, gameplay is more important than Ps and content is what eventually wins the race??
@lonesamurai1: The only way this comes to other platform is because Sony and Marvel agree, same goes with Death Stranding, Insomniac games are just helping make the game, they hold no power on which Platform it's released on. MS did the same with ROTTR but they only paid for a timed exclusive which upset alot of PS/PC only gamers. Full/Timed Exclusivity from a 3rd party studios is nothing new and is what boosts hardware sales. If all games came on all platforms, most people would just buy the version on a platform that it runs best on, which defeats the purpose of trying to sell a console to consumers.
@bickle2: My mad, I meant Insomniac games have had a strong and long partnership with Sony since thw 90s and were treated like a 1st party studio for Sony and most of their games were PS exclusives so seeing Sony,Insomniac games and Marvel coming together to make this Spiderman further enhances the feeling that it will be exclusive to the PS4 (which was the original topic in the comment sec I was replying to) . I think Sony made a deal with Marvel/Disney that allows Spiderman to be in the new Captain America: Civil war film as they own the film rights and Marvel/Disney will let Sony have rights for this Spiderman, so really they are doing this game for Sony and Marvel along with Insomniac games will be making it. All just calculated guess of course.
PS VR, Horizon, Days Gone, Spiderman, Death Stranding, Nioh, Scalebound, Star Wars: Battlefront X Wing, Tekken 7, Titanfall 2, Yakuza 0, Sea of Thieves, Mass Effect, KI3!! Man, my wallet will take a beating.
So glad I own both current gen consoles, if he can create a great franchise under a boss like Konami, I'm excited to see what he creates with this much freedom and support to work. P.T had me anticipating for his next game.
