Oh? Even when your RAM runs 20% faster?

He also said something about being more compatible with my q6600.He said it would run as a real quad-core, while it now runs as two dual-cores. And he said that the p35 supports raid, while mine doesn't (and that last part is definitely true, because I could check that myself). And when I buy a new graphics card, it will be PCI-E2.0, and it will support that too.

I've been told that when I upgrade my 965-mobo to a P35-mobo and when I upgrade the RAM accordingly (667mhz to 800 mhz), I will have a 20% speed increase. Is this true or is this guy just trying to sell me something I don't really need?

And what dos this speed increase mean? That my pc will startup 20% faster, or that I will get 24fps insteas of 20 fps in crysis, or that my pc has 20% less lag, or ...

When I put en PCI-E2.0 card (like a ATI HD 3870) in my mobo with a PCI-E1.0 slot, will I still get the performance you see in benchmarks, or will it be only half of that (because the data transfer is cut in half)? Or will there only be a minor difference?

What's the maximum amount of RAM that you can use with Vista 32-bit? Is it: A) 3GB or B) 4GB?

[QUOTE="kodex1717"]You don't need a new heatsink if you're not overclocking.shanelevy

I agree. The reason being, the stock fan is extremely quiet at any speed below 35% or so. At the default 29%, I can't even hear it. If you aren't overclocking, then you won't have to worry about temps which will rise in the 80s celsius.

It's not about buying a new heatsink, or upgrading my heatsink, but about chossing between heatsinks. I would like to know wether one of those heatsinks is better, or wich one isn't efficient at all or wich one is the most quiet one at stock speeds.

I've seen some different types of coolers that come with a 8800GT. I'm just wondering which one to choose. I'm not planning to overclock my card or to use SLI (so a bigger fan isn't a problem). But I'm wondering wether there is a difference in noise level or if there is any difference at all.

[QUOTE="liszt_rhapsody"][QUOTE="Elite-Realist"][QUOTE="liszt_rhapsody"]

And which specifications should the psu have, if I want an 8800gt 512MB to run at its full potential?

dayaccus007

650w but 1000w so you wont have to buy a psu when a better compont comes out. i have a 8800gts + the new intel e8400.

I'm not planning to upgrade any further, so a 650W should be enough? And I read some stuff about 20+A on a 12V-rail or something like that. How many amps should that 12V-rail have for a 8800gt? And does it matter how I connect the components to the psu?

Corsair VX450W will be more than enough for your system and it has enough amps on +12V rail

How much watt and amps should it have exactly? Because i just want to buy a psu that is available in one of the local stores. And here in Belgium, I can't get that Corsair VX450W...
