What an absolute ridiculous post. The game didn't launch with adverts. They spent a lot of time and effort creating the game to the extremely high standard it is. After launch they had financial issues. So they included some non intrusive adds in the short load times to alleviate the problems. Your comment was just ignorant and unnecessary.

How is what I said ridiculous? What's ridiculous is paying for content and seeing adverts unobtrusive or not. When you buy a film or a music album you don't expect ads so why would it be acceptable in a game.Do you have any idea how much time, effort and money goes into video game development? Do you honestly believe that a game of Wipeout's calibre should be free because there are some small adds that appear for several seconds during a load screen?
Wipeout itself has always included real life brands in the game. One of the very first games featured Red Bull quite heavily, its done deliberately to ground the game.
I'm not saying adverts in a game are a good thing. I sure as hell don't want to see them. However, in Wipeout's case I think they're acceptable. Some form of real life branding is part of the Wipeout universe. I recall Puma being in the PSP games a lot too.
Saying that they are greedy bas***ds and that the game should be free is ridiculous though.
I still don't see your point as with alot of free media uses adverts as a way of supplement income for services E.G. radio, internet sites, broadcast televison, and just because other games have done it doesn't validate any of your argument. I noticed you hold the wipeout series in high regard as do I, but just because I like something doesn't mean that it can't stand any criticism. Although the greedy basterds comment might have been a little harsh but in my opinion it is kinda like double dipping and it shouldn't be tolerated in the slightest or we'll be seeing a lot more of it.
