i know ms claims to not want a required hard drive, but *if* (when?)it causes the large majority of gamers to suffer then they will probably change their position.
they should just do like nintendo did when they released the memory expansion when they released donkey kong 64.
i think it really depends on the type of game. rpgs and some sports games would probably be fine that long. but shooters and action games should probably be shorter to hold attention. i mean i love shooters but i don't think the gameplay would be fun for that many hours.
getting rid of single player modes would be stupid. multiplayer is fine, but the story element of the games is really told in single player (unless it's co-op). the point of videogaming is to enjoy the story told in a (really good)game.
