its too early to tell, but for now 360. I think it might shift to wii after E3 though. They have Brawl, Mario Kart wii, motion control Star WArs the force UNleashed (awesome), Mario Super SLuggers Baseball, Motion control Star Wars the clone Wars, wii fit, and an unnannounced game that Reggie promises will kick ass. they will win the multiplayer lineup at least

3D platformer- Super Mario Galaxy, hands-down

2D platformer- Super Mario Bros 3 tied with Super Mario World

RPG- Don't care much, i suppose the Mario RPG series is pretty awesome (Superstar Saga, Paper Mario, Thousand Year Door, etc.)

FPS- Metroid Prime 3 tied with Halo

TPAA- Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess tied with Ocarina of Time tied with Phantom Hourglass (inovation)

racing-any Burnout game or Mario Kart DS

fighter- Super Smash Bros Brawl or any Tekken

party- Wii Sports hell yeah!!!!!!!!!!

I know there are more genres, but the others dont really interest me

this i think is a good discussion. Zelda games are always the pinnacle of action adventures when they are released, and they almost never have huge flaws. I however have found some. you may ask why this is in the DS section when only one zelda game has come out for the DS, but that is because the biggest flaw I ever found in a zelda game is on the otherwise fantastic DS iteration, Phantom Hourglass. I despise how you must replay each previous level of the Temple of the Ocean King to get to each subsequent one. this is made even worse by the fact that the Temple of the Ocean King is arguably the hardest dungeoun in the game. But thats my opinion. I wanna hear yours! pls reply.

yes. simple as that. if you don't own brawl, then you don't deserve to own a wii. it is a masterpiece, and the only reason (and this still is not a very good one) is that you don't have a wii, in which buy both as soon as you can, because that and a few other wii titles like TP and super mario galaxy are the essence of quality.

Star Wars: the Force Unleashed without question. As a HUGE Star Wars fan, I have been dreaming of right, left, up, down, forward motion control saber fighting, and the game also promises a new chapter in the saga between episodes 3 and 4.

is it just me, or has the standard for gaming excellence gone down because of the poweful new systems? for example, in only the past 6 months, Gamespot has given out two perfect scores to games that, while very good and worthy of a 9.3 or 9.4, have been overhyped for small reasons. Yes, yes, GTA4 and MGS4 were awesome titles and some of the best this year, but I highly doubt that they were worthy of the same legendary score that The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and the original Soul Caliber recieved. And if you look at IGN, you find more problems. For instance, on IGN, every game in the Ratchet and Clank series with the exception of Secret agent Clank recieved 9 and above. Yes, all of them were solid action platformers, but they did not deserve those high hype scores and those editor's choice awards. I beleieve that lately, video game reviewers have been blinded by new, improved audio visuals which, while part of the score, is far from all of it. In fact, I still find it more fun to play in the classic Tick Tock Clock world of the aging Super Mario 64 than to play infection multiplayer on the beautiful to watch Halo. SMB3 still appeals to me more than the average high tech, 3D game, and yet 2D reviews pale in comparison to the ones many 3D games like Gears of War and COTD4 recieve. Please post your opinion.

I feel that while TP should have recieved a 9 or 9.1 because it was very good, Zelda games tend to be pampered a bit with the reviews because of amazing titles like ww and oot. For example, though I just called tp a good game, some are naming it the greatest Zelda game ever, which it most definitley is not. That title belongs to either oot or lttp. Anyway, I have disagreed with gamespot in the past, but usually i can see where they are coming from and at least respect their reasoning. Plus, they have almost never steered me wrong when they call a game good. Super mario Galaxy and Burnout Legends are examples.

I don't care about AC or the rest. Nintendo, please, just give me my DK,Mario, and Zelda. IM BEGGING YOU MIYAMOTO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Sorry, i lost my cool for a second there. But seriously, those franchises need to get some sequels. At least DK; he hasn't had a game worthy of the Donkey Kong 64 name since Junglebeat, and even that wasn't enough for everyone's favorite barrel tossing gorilla!

I hate to do this to you Smashycuts, but if your really dying for a new Pokemon experience, you should lower your expectations for the Wii, and perhaps dust off your DS (if you have one, if not, get one), because that is the system that will be getting all the pocket monsters action. The last major Wii Pokemon game, Revolution, while okay for fans, was a bit of a failure as far as RPG/fighters go. In fact, if you look along the long history of console pokemon games, the only one even halfway enjoyable for someone other than a fan was Collesseum, and even that was full of flaws. The DS on the other hand, is an excellent system for your needs. While the new Mystery Dungeons were a bit disappointing, Ranger revolutionized the pokemon catching mechanics, and Pokemon puzzle games (Planet Puzzle League with pokemon characters) have always been an easy way to get some Pokemon fan service without overdoing it. Best of all, Diamond and Pearl are a great way to relive the classic top down pokemon rpgs, and they are online, which is flippin awesome if you ask me.... Online competition rocks.
