I pre-ordered this and have been playing it today. It took me like 15 attempts until I beat the first level. I knew exactly what I'd done wrong every time. It doesn't explain everything to you, but I found it very intuitive. You can tell when a hostage needs to be calmed down or intimidated by their body language etc. I'm doing the torture level now, died 5 times, but I know what I did wrong - little trial and error as well. I restarted because one of my guys died and I didn't want him dead - weird that he would live through to other scenarios anyway.
Hope I'm not as disappointed with the later levels as the reviewer. I really like it so far, and I enjoy how tough it is.
I loved the ludum dare game jam, I played it a whole bunch of times until I finally survived. Something about it stuck with me, I was hoping there'd be more adventures with the space crew. Already pre-ordered this, seeing they were expanding it a little and doing a release was a great unexpected little surprise.
"Do I still have the power to fire you?" lol You go Kevin. Kevin seemed like he understood the game better than Tom despite never playing it. Tom was terribad at this... but that doesn't stop him enjoying it luckily.
Btw Grim Fandango is one of if not the greatest point-n-click adventure game of all time, and from what I've seen of Broken Age, I predict it to be memorable.
Fucking finally. Hey, what a great idea, make a SURVIVAL HORROR game based on a horror franchise! These guys seem to be doing what the fans have always wanted, can't wait to see more
