@Lord_Vivec No it isn't, making characters that are more inclusive of different demographics potentially expands interest in gaming and hence business.
@xhominid @AyatollaofRnR @godfather830 You don't get it. Sure Ellie could be considered attractive. But she's not presented in the same way as, say, the girls in Dead Or Alive. There is a difference between being attractive and being sexualised.
I hate sexism and misogyny, I think it's disgusting. And I hate all of it that is so prominent and proud in the GTA franchise.
BUT
In saying that, it doesn't just portray and have fun with sexism. GTA makes fun of everyone. Hell, the main gimmick and title of the whole game is that you can steal cars. However childish and wrong it is, to buy into GTA is to buy into all kinds of depravity and low-brow humour. If you want a thoughtful politically correct open world game about crime you have to look elsewhere. All I'm saying is that if you understand the character of GTA then you have to take it warts and all. You're playing a game about stealing cars, murdering people, drugs and crime. And for whatever reason you see no need to criticise THAT aspect of it.. interesting isn't it?
It reminds me of South Park. Its unbiased because it goes after everyone. That being said, any teenage douche who think its okay or cool to have the kind of attitude GTA has towards women in real life is terribly mistaken. You can't say it isn't sexist, it is. But at least admit you're okay with it and defend why, instead of denying it or hypocritically slamming sexist comments at the reviewer.
Carelessly chucking the psp against the wall, ugh, irish women... Last time I was there I was eaten alive. And just LOOKING at that guiness made me feel sick, never again. Never again.
20 years old and 200,000 in the bank, nice. If it were me I'd put it away in a high interest savings account, and continue with college. Earning 5% in interest on that would be 10k a year
