Don't Mess With The Old Lady's

Don't Mess With The Zohan is the new Adam Sandler movie featuring some entertaining caricatures of middle eastern cultures that manage to not be terribly stereotypical because of the huge number of differing personalities. It is mainly about people from Palestine and Israelis finding common ground as well as a man finding his place in the world. That whole plot feels very stitched together though and it makes you think "wow, so that's all that happened". Details are omitted and the constant gags seem like filler. Then there's the worst part, prepare yourself, the film features him having sex with old lady's for money. It's a major part of the plot and for many people the only thing that will make it worthwhile, it is dispersed all over the middle of the movie. If you judge the movie on making you laugh I suppose it does at least embarrass you to the point of smiling but if you have ever been creeped out by old lady's having sex than this movie will cause you far more pain than enjoyment. And even if you think you can handle it, it is a bad movie in so many other ways.

Bioshock on the ps3 and XMB (cross media bar) integration

yep it was just announced and I for one am freakin excited!! When I bought my ps3 I felt very dissapointed that bioshock wouldn't be coming out for the ps3 soon but this announcement makes my investment worthwhile in my view considering they will unboubtedly have a better looking game with more content to offer up.

There is also a tip off that's on the main page of gamespot right now talking about a screenshot taken of a dev kit build of a supposed firmware update 2.4 that will include trophies and a cross media bar and if this is true I also hope some type of score! If they only do trophies I will be dissapointed because who the hell is gonna take the time to look at all the trophies you got. They should also have more info about people like what they're currently playing, a uploadable image and maybe something original I haven't thought of, yeah originallity would be a definent plus otherwise there'll be nothing to truley brag about vs the 360.

Just got linux on my mac

I just put linux on my mac and it runs awesome, for internet use there's nothing better it is simply lightning fast. I had to use a vmware trial though to make it work and unless I buy it I wont be using linux for that long but even then I suppose I could still make a dvd and then reformat the harddrive.

1984 headphones + iPod = Bliss

They're not the most presentable by traditional standards but beuty is in the eye of the beholder right? My replacement iPod just came in the mail and is working perfectly, so I decided to order some new more durable headphones instead of fragile low fidelity earbuds. I ordered the Koss PortaPro Headphones which have gone through many different upgrades in performance the latest one not too long ago, the design however hasn't changed since 1984. The design consists of a metal strip over your head and metal circles on the headphones themselves as well as a small pad that fits over the temple and can be adjusted in how hard it presses on them to suit your comfort. It has a pretty cool blue trimming and all in all looks retro and wearing them confidently will definently prove you don't have a self esteem problem (unless of course you wear them specifically to prove that). I will be writing a breif review of them as soon as I get a week or so to listen to them on my iPod as well as with my big ass sony cd console and using dvds ranging in sound quality and maybe one or two games although the tv that is connected to my ps3 doesn't have a heaphone jack so they will all have to be relatively old games as they will have to run on the 64mb integrated cpu graphics capabilities in my macbook. I was convinced to buy these because of the boasting of sound quality by reviewing sites particularly the review by cnet who I am very confident in.

Samurais

I saw some samurai's on T.V. , that's pretty much what I've accomplished since my last post.

Disc based media and better graphics FTW!

This is a blog I wrote a while back that nobody read as I had no people tracking me, plz read and enjoy: I'm sinscerly sorry for writing about this because I know many of you don't care to much but I just have to. It's really about several things that have been on my mind about gaming lately as well as they are things that I have always held true. Firstly, graphics matter, and if you say that we are at the peak of graphics right now and that development should move to motion controls or better gamepad control then you're not only crazy but you're a detriment to the future of games. Have you seen the cutscenes that are possible in games nowadays, or pixar movies; games can look that good; it isn't that far off. Maybe I just pay more attention but for me there are still countless flaws in realism and detail in the current generation of games. So when I hear people say something like: I think games will shift more towards developing new ways to control things, things already look real enough, I get pissed off! The second thing is about the internet, now I love the internet and without it you and that one other guy wouldn't be able to read this but I hate paying money and then downloading something. This is mainly because I hate harddrives. Harddrives crash, they run out of space, and they are often less convenient if you have a large library of games on a harddrive to sort through. Storage and saftey are the main issues though, a disc can now hold 50 gb and if you have a good number of games it's impossible to hold them all on a harddrive. The truth is this will always be the case as advances in harddrives and disc readers run side by side so that by the time there are 10TB drives in most places there will be a 3TB disc. The other thing is saftey. Harddrives crash and unless you have a backup harddrive ( which quickly costs more than using discs) you will lose all your games and have to re-download them if you have a good service and in the case of itunes you just lose them forever. How lazy are people anyway that they can't get up and put a disc in. So that's what I had to say and if you read through it and care, well I'm surprised.

Should you hate the casual gamer?!

There is much speculation, or rather much panic over the mainstream presence of gaming and the casual gaming market but there is no need my friends. There is a large market for casual games, and it is expanding as we speak but if you look at the numbers the casual gamer doesn't seem to have a high tendency to drop dollars, they prefer to play one or two very cheap games that don't require expensive technology. There is also a large hardcore market that has fewer people but they have the need to buy, getting many many games in the pursuit of the next great experience. I bet I know which one you are. Though it may seem it is a threat the truth is when you think about it, were you just born a hardcore gamer? I know I wasn't. I started off with the gameboy color and played pokemon for years. Then I eventually started to play more hardcore games like super mario 64, then I played lord of the rings action games on the ps2 and by now I'm open to any game and am actively seeking the most amazing experiences. The casual gamer is the same way, it only seems easier to us as most of us grew up with video games. If you can make a casual gamer have a fun time playing a game, hey they might try a harder game, then they might want a better story or better graphics and pretty soon you've got a full grown hardcore gamer. So in closing casual gamers are not to be hated, marginalized or excluded. Why not let them into our club; I bet they might be fun to play with to.

I want a redo!

I've recently been looking over my old reviews and I've found them to be ridiculous pieces of crap so I'm revising them and so far I've rewritten my review of assassins creed and burnout paradise changing the score of assassins creed from 7.0(i know) to 9.5 and changing the score of 10.0 to burnout(i know) to 8.5, so comment here and give the reviews a read if you like.

Dude seriously.... my ipod broke?!?!?!

yeah it did, was a ipod classic, bought it back in september and the battery wont hold a charge anymore which is kind of why I wish I would get one of those really big video players that have huge batteries that never wear out. But I was pleased to find out that because my ipod was still under warranty the replacement only costs 30$(otherwise it's 150$). I don't fully know why it broke, I think the battery just wore out but it's possible there was some sort of short-out due to when I had it in a steamy room right before it broke. And on that strange creepy thought of why I would be in a steamy room, this blog is gold.
