came back to say called it and loving it, get back to your partisan BS. yall asked for this and much worse to come lol. surrealnumber5

This may very well be the catalyst what will be the worst decade in US history.

I fully expect this news to inflame the conspriacy theories and provoke arrogant retorts of "how dare they". Once the madness of crowds develop further, ideologues will easily be able to bolster their ranks by recruiting more followers to their side. This is all or nothing battle for the left and right wing.

How al Qaeda is using online game theory to recruit the masses.

As much as it would suck am I the only one cheering for a default, it desotry the bankersters and US empire in on swift hit.

Most importantly, the ever finger pointing American people can finally reap with they sow. I dont think I have ever seen a people so devoid of accountability like the American people. I'd take a politician, Democrat or Republican over the average american voter any day.

You ever hear them talk with their feel good, pat themselves on the back slogans "cut congress pay!"

or the ever popular "term limits" Nevermind the fact the voters have the power. Of course incumbents usually win because the voters think all the other politicians are corrupt, except "their guy"

Don't forget the so called attempt to being fair and reasonable. "we want both sides to compromise" translation; We want the parties to come up with some more funny math to keep the fantasy going.

Hahaha, my fingers are crossed for a default too.

[QUOTE="sonicare"] I think the trouble is that the average person doesnt have the background necessary to understand all the nuances of the government and the economy. If you are a farmer and spend all of your time doing that, how informed can you be about which candidate is better? Government and economic policy can be tough for the most educated specialists to figure out. John Q Public has no shot. John Q is probably just going to be concerned about local factors.DroidPhysX

Oh I agree. there are lots of people who are unqualified for their positions. When gross incompetence is revealed, they are usually fired.

How do you fire members of the voting public? the unqualified ones?

But they do meet the qualifications. :?

You are right. Thats why whatever excuse people try to use to paint themselves as the under dogs, little people etc is ultimately irrelevant. They have the power and must accept responsibility for their actions. Ignorance is no excuse.

Is this thread just a thinly veiled attempt to rationalize attacks on the general public? Because I could say that you may draw the correlation the public is then responsible for the government's foreign policy and thus there are no innocent people. Is that what you are getting at?

sonicare

haha no,I just want to hear some accountability from John Q public. The way the average person talks, they make it sound like they live in a dictatorship.

The problem is spending other peoples money to improve your community is a good thing for the politician and their constituents. So, "the politicians most likely to get re-elected are the ones that earmark bills with frivolous and often useless spending measures. I think term limits need to be in place. Two-terms max for senators and the HoR. The system is borderline corrupt and that is not the fault of the American public really.Mafiree

What you describe really puts the blame on the average voter. The politicians are just a reflection of the greed and corruption of the voting public?

Then shouldnt the vast majoiryt of them be only one termers?

DroidPhysX

Sadly, a significant portion of the voting public is unaware of the important issues and where a candidate stands. The incumbent advantage. They see a sort of recognizable name, the incumbent, and vote for him/her. They won't vote for a name they've never heard of before. Of course there is exceptions to this, such as midterm elections.

So the voting public is at fault?

I was thinking, in a country like the US where the common people have so much power to hire and fire politicians, should they ultimately take responsibility for its ills?

How does the old saying go? "The buck stops here"
