Since Nintendo is investing a good share of their time and resources in innovation, I foresee an even more epocal revolution in gaming with their next console. Many people say that Virtual Reality is the next step developers will take towards creating the ultimate immersive experience.

What do you say: will the next Nintendo console be called the Nintendo VR, or something similar? Will it allow us to experience virtual reality? And is virtual reality really possible or is it just a contradiction in terms?

Let's discuss this together.

I've bought and used peripherals for others systems that had the motion senser-like technology the Wii uses, but all the other ones I've used were poor quality, didn't work well, and therefore failed. The Wii has pretty much perfected it in my opinion.

I've also used VR technology in the past - like VR helmets and such - that were amazing ideas, but again were poor quality and didn't work well, and therefore failed. If Nintendo could do with VR what they did with the motion sensors, I think there is definately potential for another great step in gaming. I'd love to see it.

Heck, they could probably incorporate something like a VR helmet peripheral for the Wii if they really wanted to :P

I will be getting it. I can use some extra physical activity in my life, at the moment.juster25t

Me too, and if I can do it while having fun, in the comfort of my own living room that makes it even better. I have a small weight set too, so with both I'll pretty much have a home gym and won't have to pay for a dumb Gold's membership.

Wow, you're too damn cool for us.

Look everyone, he has a Gold's Gym card! He's so cool he has to pay a monthly fee in order to workout and stay in shape. Screw just getting off your ass and going jogging, lets pay way too much just to go to a gym and look awesome. He spits in the face of Wii Fit.

ah, more people putting words into my mouth. sorry but i'm being realistic. i can go the gym and get on various machines or do free weights and get better results than wii fit. wii fit isn't gonna give me 6-pac abs, the chest that i want, the arms that i want, and the legs that i want. and im answering the thread starters question so its really laughable how upset you guys are getting.

...how did you answer the thread starters question? The thread is named "Who IS getting Wii Fit?" not "Who is NOT getting Wii Fit" or even "Who's the biggest loudmouth"

yes he said who is getting it and i said no. isn't no a negation? i didnt feel like saying "no i am not". me looking at my gold's gym card did that for me.

We DON'T CARE that you're not getting it. We don't need your negation. No one asked for negativity. The thread starter asked for posts from people who ARE going to buy it. We don't care that you think you're hot because you go to Gold's Gym; congradulations on being full of yourself. We don't need or want to hear it, so why don't you just get lost and let us get back to the topic?

I'll be getting it. I'm into staying fit and playing video games, combining the both seems like a an obvious good choice. Plus, I agree, there is bound to be other cool games to use with it. Imagine a skateboard/snowboard game; that'd be pretty fun.

The only problem I see with Wii Fit is: If an extremely obese person uses it, couldn't it break? (seriously). They should say how much weight it could hold on the box.

Im saying after a while it could break, not first time standing on it.

wiifan001

lol, very excellent point... I'm sure it'll have a 'recommended maximum weight' or something to that effect, Nintendo is really good for its health/safety precautions.

There was a link (sorry don't have that either  ) saying that the weight limit on the Balance Board was 350 lbs. That means a LOT of people here in the U.S. won't be very happy to hear that.

Hahah, thats unfortunate... most of the people who need it the most won't be able to use it! Oh well, it'll be great for the rest of us... and if someone over 350 lbs wanted to play it badly enough, at least it'd be motivation to lose some weight ;)
