Noooooo. People will know my real name. The anonimity of teh internetz has been destoryed. I may actually have to act civil from now on. How sad ...

-Snooze-

You clearly haven't seen the activities of certain internet groups lately, shutting down airport terminals to inconvenience a certain person who had annoyed them. It will be worse for females, they will be harassed immensely due to this.

http://www.mmo-champion.com/content/1851-Battle-net-Update-Upcoming-Changes-to-the-Official-Forums#new_comment

"The first and most significant change is that in the near future, anyone posting or replying to a post on official Blizzard forums will be doing so using their Real ID -- that is, their real-life first and last name -- with the option to also display the name of their primary in-game character alongside it. These changes will go into effect on all StarCraft II forums with the launch of the new community site prior to the July 27 release of the game, with the World of Warcraft site and forums following suit near the launch of Cataclysm."

Read this for absolute proof that this is a bad idea:

OK, I couldn't possibly nread all 14 pages of posts in this thread. But I think I got a general feel of the consencus here - Zelda being trashed as stale and rehashed, Nintendo fans retaliating against Bioware (even though it wasn't Bioware themselves that made this statement, it was G4) trashing their numerous AAA RPG series.

Much animosity has risen from the idea of a beloved series being "tampered" by another developer, and I'm getting the general sense that "only Nintendo should touch their IPs". Oh how wrong this attitude is. It may be early to be talking about this as it hasn't released yet, but it seems safe for me to say most Samus fans are eagerly anticpating Metroid Other M, a game that was developed by Team Ninja. And remember before that, when Retro Studios reivented the Metroid series taking it into the 1st person theatre?

IPs shoulsn't necessarily be attached to just one development team, but rather open to different creative minds that can give players new and unique visions of cherished characters, to be experienced in a new way. Which is what Team Ninja is doing with Samus.

What I'm saying is, lets not attack the idea of Bioware, or any other development team, taking the reigns of an established franchise, and seeing how their vision can possibly reinvigorate a long running series in ways we never imagined before. And that's what I'm talking about. Possibilities. This sort of thing, by which ever game or development team we're talking about, shouldn't be seen as a negative, but rather as an opportunity.

I say, more inter-developer collaberations is what the industry needs MORE of, and what we as gamers should EMBRACE.

Imagine what Valve and 343 Studios could accomplish in a Halo collaberation.
Or Ubisoft working with Eidos to make a Tomb Raider Game.
What unique experience could a Metal Gear game be if handled by Remedy?

Maybe some of these ideas seem like a stretch, but then again, 3 years ago who would have thought they'd see Samus helmed by TN? yes we all know that Zelda is an action adventure game, but its lore and setting makes for amazing RPG material, and could be seamlessly redesigned as one.

AdobeArtist

Making Metroid 1st person was Miyamoto's idea, retro are a Nintendo subsidiary, and other m is a collaberation. No one except you wants an RPG zelda, we want action adventure zelda.

[QUOTE="ThePlothole"][QUOTE="Respawn-d"]

People do realize that a bluray disk is a DVD right.

Respawn-d

That's like saying DVDs are CDs.

DVD uses a 650nm laser. Blu-Ray uses a 405nm laser. DVD drives spin the disc at a constant rate regardless of what part of is being read ("constant angular velocity"). Blu-Ray slows down as they're reading the outer edge, and speeds up for the inner part of the disc ("constant linear velocity").

They diff tecs but they are both Digital video discs unless they start making blurays on squares :?

Pity DVD does not stand for Digital Video Disk then isn't it?

Gmod vs LBP is a stupid comparison. They aren't rivals in any way, one is a platformer, and the other is a FPS.

wackapacka

Gmod is a platformer too, along with most other genres you could list.

[QUOTE="Desmonic"] Yes, the first part is already old, but the second part isn't. Anyway, if Media Molecule confirm all this on Monday this game will be on my "to buy" list!Desmonic

GMod still decimates LBP in every way.

With that I have to agree, GMod ( and most mods in general) is much better than LBP, but is it as simple to use as LBP? Or ModNation? I think that is factor that will attract most people to the game ( as it did for LBP), the ease of use.

That really depends on what your making in GMod, a domino set is easier than a fully functioning spaceship, but with complexity comes variety.

expect LBP is more popular than Gmod, every person i asked in the real World dont even know what ^^^^ it is

Popularity has no bearing on quality, or features. Though GMod is more popular than you think, i know more people with GMod than LBP. So much more is possible in GMod.
