Hal-life 2? No, Half-life 1 (along blue shift and opposing force) is way better.

Crysis ? No, Far Cry 1 is better

Halo? Hell no, that game sucks

Fear is cool, but Doom 3 is way better and its a instant classic, unlike Fear.

Bioshock is awesome, deserves its masterpiece status.

[QUOTE="markko84"]

The game would cost US$ 59 on steam

so, i'm getting it on the box anyway

lawlessx

what does the price have to do with this?

from where I live, steam gives me the advantage (depending of the game) of paying 25%, 50%, even 70% less, not including discounts

if the game on steam is gonna cost the same as on the box, isn't worth. I rather have a box, a dvd and the choice to not run under steamtray. So, definitely buying on retail.

GTA Episodes from Liberty City and Resident Evil 5 (a friend of mine gave them for me as gift on steam, but haven't touched once yet)

Street Fighter IV - Lots of unlocks remaining

Crysis 2

Crysis 1

Mirror's Edge

NFS shift

Shift 2 Unleashed

Splinter Cell Conviction (the control scheme is horrible on PC, otherwise i would it done it already, its a great game)

Portal

Fear and its expansions

Burnout paradise

NFS Hot pursuit (lost interest on it after seeing console players geting tons of cool new cars and new mp modes, and we pc players getting nothing)

The thing is that I spent too much time on the last 16 months playing Bad Company 2. That game make up for 90% of my gaming time since 2010.

For me it would have to john Carmack. The amount of work and effort that man has done for gaming is staggering. He has created new tech and enw ways of doing things very consistently. His efforts are some of the most renowned in gaming. He is a wizard with technology. If only every dev had the knowledge and ability he had. Games would probably look better nowadays.

So who do you think has been the most influential?

seanmcloughlin

I would say him too. Actually, it was the first name that popped on my mind.

[QUOTE="scar-hawk"]Awesome. My new 6870 and i5 2300 should run it nicely. Definitely won't be maxing it. But I should be able to pump out a 1080p resolution with no AA and things like texture details at Medium, shouldn't I?scar-hawk

you have a awesome hardware and will put texture to medium? Whats the point of playing on full hd with bad texturized environments/carachters? crank texture (and a little of AA) up and low down a bit the resolution, . Spenting a holy cow of cash on a rig to turn down textures is something I dont understand. Lower resolutions do not make the game ugly like non-high textures.

I guess I'll do just that then :) I got the whole rig for about 500 bucks though so I didn't spend a holy cow lot of cash :p

mate, put 1600x900 and keep the textures on high! set AA to 2x, and that's it! You'll be fine!

peope are way too obssessed with 1920x1080!
