And all I'm saying is, when it comes to games like S4, it's arcade stick or bust. That was really my only point.DarkCatalystYeah, I'm just leaning the subject more into 3DS and handheld fighting games (even if you may not care for it all that much lol) For a handheld ,an arcade stick defeats the purpose. Just trying to give more credit to thumbsticks (?, whatever the broad term is :P) which I would say is the best, reasonable control for such a platform for fighting games.

[QUOTE="King9999"]It doesn't ask much of players, either. As for the NGPC argument above, I have one. There's a huge difference between a click stick and an analog. And the NGPC didn't ask much of players, either. Well when compared to slightly earlier SNK fighting games, I'd say NGPC did quite a bit. And yeah, for lack of a better term for that stick, it was still the start of better handheld controls with 8-way direction. Also little to no chance of blistering and skin burning of thumbs attempting to make curving motions.Bleach: Dark Souls, a more recent game, is a great portable fighter that plays well on the DS' small D-pad.

Aww c'mon now :P Arcade stick may be the defacto, but analog have proven it's efficiency ever since the NeoGeo pocket color. Now the 3DS will be more capable getting better handheld fighting games than it's predecessors for that.[QUOTE="martialbullet"][QUOTE="DarkCatalyst"] Without arcade stick support, it's not even really worth thinking about.Metamania
DC does have a point though, I have to admit. Fighting games on portable systems don't do well, in part to the controls. I've yet to see a good fighting game take advantage of the control system and use it well.
The last time I played a fighting game was on the PSP and it was Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max. I bought a better D-Pad through PlayAsia and it worked out great.
Like I said, the NeoGeo Pocket Color showed that fighting games could play well on a handheld due to it's analog stick setup. Snk vs. Capcom: MotM and Gal's Fighter are rock solid examples of that.
I think many people are overlooking the efficiency of the analog stick. It's got full 8-way control just like an arcade stick with little of the pressure that comes with it. It works far better than a d-pad, especially for rotating motions. Analog shouldn't be dismissed and only becoming a say of "Arcade stick outdoes d-pad".
Though PSP's "analog" isn't suited that well for fighting games.
My gawd, developers from Sony, Microsoft, EA, Activision pretty much filled the Nintendo Booth in mere moments
3DS IS thee spotlight of E3.

 Oh man I want to see that Konami conference. Where can I see it?
Please let this Silent Hill game be good.dvader654
You can see the "best' parts here! :P
Thats cheating, and you are still missing some classic moments. But turning on the "cc" Transcribe Audio increases it's awesome by 10x fold D: Yeah, it is missing a lot of the other parts though... best bet is to watch both :P It's a short one anyways.[QUOTE="martialbullet"][QUOTE="Archangel3371"]

Did anyone check out Gamespot's Live On the Spot Xbox party feed? It was awesome! Sure looked like an adventure for RyanM and the others... Rock Band, "Cole Train", Ice-T presented with a lancer (and cursing so happily :P), Seth Killain hitting the scene, Summer Arcade games, and a pair of drunk guys making racist jokes haha
Wonder if you can download that video later, best thing I've seen yet in E3 next to Konami's crazy conference!
[QUOTE="martialbullet"][QUOTE="DarkCatalyst"]I always anticipate TGS more than E3. Better chances of seeing a good number of games I actually want.DarkCatalystReally? Because last year was awful. Seems like most are taking a new direction announcing games in E3 or Individual Publisher press shows. It was more of a general statement. My gaming tastes are primarily Japanese, so the recent downplaying of all but the most major Japanese titles at E3 press conferences (and to a lesser extent, the show proper) rubs me very much the wrong way. I don't have to worry about that with TGS. Yeah, I was sort thinking that with last year, major Japanese publishers were beginning to go somewhere else to announce and show their games as a few editors had theorized as well. Maybe that's not the case... I guess at the very least they might change things up this time.
