[QUOTE="blackngold29"][QUOTE="Chiddaling"]Still sucks MiB doesn't have a name. :(ChiddalingWhy!? Like if they would've said, "Oh, this is Steve." You would've been happy? Yes, of course I would. :) Such a beastly character deserves a name, a good one too. Like...Locke. Oh wait... But it would just fit that hole inside of me so I don't keep thinking about why he doesn't have a name. His name should have been... Opin! Okay, that sucked.
Using Hakan quite a bit, I can say he's got a lot of bad match ups.Today I saw a video of what I think was part of an interview with Daigo and Mago, two top SF players.
Both of them were asked who they thought was the weakest character in Super and both of them said Hakan.
Is there validity to that statement or just strictly opinion? Is Hakan that weak of a character?

Fair enough, thanks for the info.bmanincNo problemo! Didn't know Miles was on there till you said it.
They didn't show Jacob meeting Shannon, Boone, Miles, etc either so I don't think they showed all of them, dude.bmaninc
I looked up the list. Yeah, Eko wasn't on there. But yeah, Shannon, Boone and Miles were.
Was Eko a candidate? How could the Smoke Monster kill him? bmanincI don't believe so. Was there a scene of Jacob visiting him that I missed?
He chose certain people as candidates for replacing him. Why he wanted to protect it is somewhat uncertain, but points lead to the destruction of possibly the earth... Or maybe powers such as what turned MiB into, though that would only mean being chained to the island from what I can observe.Ok, but why the hell did Jacob bring them all there? They never explained why he wanted to protect it so badly. I hate it.

I think the Island is... whatever. The Island doesn't have a set meaning, but instead it means something different to each person. For Sawyer, it was a place to start over. For Widmore, it's the demon that's haunted him all his life. Locke saw it as a place to test himself, to prove that he was a real man. It was Mr. Eko's chance at redemption. For Rose and Bernard, the power of the Island is that it brings them to each other. Faraday views it as an object of study. For Ben, it's a symbol of power and control. Richard Alpert would say it's hell. The Island is what you make it. All you can say for sure is that it's this place where lots of weird stuff happens.[QUOTE="SilentSoprano"]
Can someone explain to me what the point of the island was? It had all these magical powers and was deemed so important by Jacob and that it had to be protected, but why? Who cares if it sunk, if it didn't really have a purpose?

My two cents anyway. :P
I'm kind of glad it was left unexplained, really... I think the mystery is cooler than knowing.
And the maaagic! I remember someone on Kotaku posting David Lindelof's face on a wizard's body saying: "It's magic. I ain't gotta say ****!" :lol:There's a completely logical, show-consistent reason for why Eko didn't show up in the finale, besides "he didn't want to be in the show anymore." The Island was very painful for him... his idea of the afterlife wouldn't be back with these people since they weren't the most important parts of his life. I think he'd be back with his brother, when they were kids, before he killed anyone.SkylinePigeonYeah, he was able to move on before he was killed by MiB. Didn't know though he didn't want to be in the show anymore :(
