The scene with Jack fighting Locke was mindblowingly good.

lennon07

I did like the premise of it. Flocke losing his powers but what seemed to be the key of letting him leave the island. A great, reasonable way to balance the fight.

Though if he was smart, he should have just jumped off and head to the boat :P

[QUOTE="SkylinePigeon"]The flashes sideways are not real. It's a huge contrivance that purposefully misled us without really resolving why or how. This is especially frustrating when you have so many people at the end of the series saying they wanted more explanations. More explanations could have been given if they hadn't spent half the time telling a fake, made up storyline. It -is- interesting as a what if. But it has no real significance. Which is a problem. They could have confined it to just a few episodes, instead of the entire season, and I think that may have worked better. I still liked it, and I think it was a good ending. I'm satisfied with it. But that doesn't make it perfect.sammyjenkis898

Exactly. Everything that happened before the revelation of the afterlife doesn't serve much of a purpose. What was the point in showing us moments of their afterlife in the beginning of the season? There wasn't. It didn't serve much use for the show. The only purpose of it that I can actually think of was to keep the audience wondering where the "alternate timeline" will head, most thinking it would merge. Once we find out it is the afterlife, everything else in this "timeline" seems, like you said, bull****.

It just bothers me the more I think about it.

Yup, who the **** needs a spinal surgery in the afterlife? Jack's son not actually existing and what seems to only serve as a device... damn. :x As much as I really liked the ending, I can't help but restate how much crap that was leading up to it. And this won't be the last time I say this :P

Okay, looking back at the series as a whole, I do like how the theme of spirituality went on till the end. I hate those kind of stuff, but they managed to pull it off quite nicely and it makes Locke that much of wiser :P (I don't mean the afterlife, that process I still think was crap)

Also, I expected past questions would go unanswered. It seems some more important background and info could have been explained, but the ending showed what the focus and priority was anyways. Still a bit irked about that, though not as much as I thought.

So much for Jack's son being just a device

[QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]Martial, you obviously do not understand this show. After watching it for years, and seeing the much anticipated ending, your opinion will not be accepted if it's not what I agree to. He obviously does understand the show..Ultrabeatdown55
Thats not what I meant. He is saying that what they were showing was in fact flash-forwards of their dead self's which is wrong... Thats not an opinion, thats just wrong. And because the show surprised us it was crap? Come on, this is LOST and if you have not gotten used to game changing surprises then... well... I don't know what to say.

I didn't say the surprise was crap, that what I what I liked about it >___>

It was the process of leading to that point.

Also it's the afterlife. How is that not going forward?

Basically the flashes sideways were interesting to watch, served a legitimate purpose, but were also complete bull****. It's LOST, did we really expect anything different? :PSkylinePigeon

One last theory for you guys to rip to shreds. I guess not so much of a theory as a question, but all this flash sideways stuff? Isn't it kind of a lie? Wouldn't it all have technically been a flash forward, since from my understanding it was all just kinda a made up world while they were all trying to figure out they had already passed?

jubino
Yeah it was. I can understand the whole surprise from it, but misleading the audience like that was crap. Hey, at least it wasn't a dream :P

[QUOTE="martialbullet"][QUOTE="sammyjenkis898"]

Here's how it goes for me:

  1. Season four
  2. Season one
  3. Season five
  4. Season six
  5. Season three
  6. Season two

I think two and three are pretty much crap. Six was a mixed bag. I still think Across the Sea is one of the worst episodes of the series.

Ultrabeatdown55

Across the Sea alone was enough to make it the worst season

No it really wasn't...

For me it was. Cliches are a mega minus in my book, especially for something like Lost.

The show was always about the characters, and now their journey is over. The other stuff is extra stuff that should be answered in the DVD or the Lost Encyclopedia.bmaninc
No way they can answer Jack's son
