Im one of the people that actually liked the changes made to the core gameplay. The fact that you cannot die removes a lot of the frustration from the game, which is a big plus for me. Some people say it is too easy, but it makes everything more fun, and much more of an experience. Elika is an excellent addition, and acts as an extension of yourself - experimenting with her in combos is fun.

It is a little short, and it is very repetetive, but its fantastic regardless. You can really see the influences from Team ICO's games and Okami, it all blends well into a wonderful experience.

If youre apprehensive about it, dont pick it up for full price; Im sure you can find a deal on it at the moment.

Amazons prices are insane atm. An 80g PS3 + 2 games (Resistance2/LBP/Motorstorm) + HDMI cable for £279. Look up the currency and be shocked.

Exardious

Ahh nipples, I got my bundle too far away from Christmas. LBP and M: PR for 289. I really wanted R2 as well :(

Hopefully they will have some deals after Christmas, when I actually have money.

It looks like it could be a good enough corridoor shooter, though Im not expecting it to be up to snuff when compared to some of the bigger shooters around. Also, Im not too keen on the art direction that High Voltage have taken.

Still, if it controlls well, Im in. Thats what Im really looking for in this game anyway.

Trauma Center: New Blood (it hasnt been released in the UK yet) and Animal Crossing are potentially on the list. Probably not, though, seeing Im getting a PS3 and need to catch up on its releases. :)

To be fair, the TC makes a good point. The Virtual Console's selection of N64 titles leaves a lot to be desired. I read something somewhere about the possibility Nintendo had some problems with emulation, and that a lot more work is required to port over the 64 stuff. Maybe they will iron this out. Maybe we will see more releases next generation.

All I know is that some of the 64s best wont ever be available, which is why I picked up the original console for cheap :)

I like genres of all kinds..... love the metroids (first person shootventure), the zeldas, survival horror like REs, umm... ok thats actually probably it.

And for the Wii, there have been good games, dont get me wrong. I really liked Twilight Princess and Metroid Prime 3.

However..... they werent GREAT. They were just good. I want a great game, if that makes sense. I want that feeling like the first time I played Ocarina of Time.

Funny thing about that though... is that you dont realize you felt like that until years afterwards usually haha. Whoa, getting a lil deep here

fluffy_kins

You have become a tainted gamer :)

Sorry to say, but you will probably never get the same feeling Ocarina of Time gave you EVER again. Its just because we look back on those times with rose tinted glasses. They were defining moments in our childhood. They cant be replaced by similar experiences when we are older, and nothing will ever compare.

I did a bit of a Zelda marathon recently and, people are gonna hate me for saying it, but both Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are better games. Ocarina was more groundbreaking, sure, but its been surpassed since. Sometimes we need to look at old games objectively to appreciate the new stuff.

The PAL region update this week is for Wii Ware this week. If the rumours are true, then ONM has hinted that Secret of Mana will hit PAL VC very soon. I dont think I can handle it though, seeing all the good VC content thats come our way recently.

And isnt World of Goo being released as a disc?

Specifically on the Wii? Not a chance. I have so many other things to do in my life that I cant even find the time to play games that came out at the beginning of the year. I dont blast through them like some people seem to either. Im really happy with the content on the Wii.

I cant possibly believe that you have played every single good Wii game the console has to offer?

It looks kind of unfinished. I dont like it. Given the artistic scope of the game, and its obvious roots in comic books, they could have done a much MUCH better job.

Heres to hoping its a place holder.

Why try and force No More Heroes to be something that it isnt? The first one's overworld was designed with a post modern mindset, and attempted to be a piece of satire. It was effective in that if you payed attention, the sparse overworld and shallow mini games made sense within a context.

If No More Heroes 2 was to be a GTA clone, it would lose its entire point. Maybe from a gameplay perspective, it would do the game good, but I dont want it to lose its humour. Its so rare for a video game.
