How about this one- since firemen lived in a fire station, I thought teachers lived in the school and grocery store clerks lived behind that door (next to the frozen foods) which said "Employees Only".

They get married IN HELL!

 Or they get married and therefore create hell.
No wonder! I've been going to the Justice League all this time...[QUOTE="matenmoe"]
In the USA it is called going to a Justice of the Peace for a marriage license.

 ooo baby! Be my Batgirl forever, and I'll be your Superman "I Do!" "What the Justice League has created, let no supervillian tear asunder"
Am I the only one seeing the irony here?[QUOTE="Infinite-Zr0"][QUOTE="redbaron3"]America invented racism!FlyingArmbar
I see it, but America isn't exactly a race. I guess the irony still applies, though.
Jewish wasn't / isn't a race, either. Irony is educational! So the word of 'racism' might be substituted with simply 'hate'.
IDK...sigh... Bring on the T-Rex's again! RROOOOAAAAR!! "RUN!"
I would agree that humanity is narcissistic, but i don't think it is a negative thing. Narcissism is generally considered a negative thing, but i think if more people loved themselves, the world would be better off.

Interesting, and kind of poignant!
yes, once universal healthcare gets passed, Storming of the Bastille 2.0 shall occur[QUOTE="DivergeUnify"][QUOTE="matenmoe"]
Um. Obama isn't alllowed to just go and change things cuz he wants to. The citizens are the ones who have that right with a majority ruling vote. If he tires to make up stuff without our consent first- see 'gun control thread'. Obama the smoker-see 'smoking ban' thread, etc.
how come the only threads which go for pages here are usually 'chicken or the egg' ones?

Well, I'd liken such an act more to the tea party. The revolution behindthe Bastille was more of a move away from centralized wealth and power and towards social parity. Revolution because of the passage of universal health care would be more to the right than the storming of the Bastille.
this whole thing is gettin kinda spooky.

It's actually congress who have the power of passing legislation, Obama who has the power of veto, and the Supreme Court in terms of upholding the Constitution if they find the law runs counter to it. It's how it works in our representative democracy.
Understood. But where do 'we the people' come in now a days is the next question? ;)
I used to think humanity would invent some kind of gadget which would allow us to meet and talk with other humans all over the earth, and we could fix all the world's problems by talking with the other humans.

Just look for any posted topic which runs more than 3 pages here. Bring on the trolls.
The one that takes over the world will be the one we are stupid enough to keep spending money at. Or the one which gets a governmental contract.
I doubt the rest of globe (non-USA) will be affected. Until the rest of the world decides they just have to have the newest American thing, anyway. China and Russia now have McDonny's supposedly. America didn't MAKE them do that.
Kind of like the way everybodyelse (non USA) wanted to own a pair of American Blue Jeans a few years ago.
