To the OP, I think you got the 240$ price from tigerdirect.ca and they suck big time. The best canadian etailers are directcanada, ncix, pc village, dytronix.

Ati hd3870 or nvidia 9600gt. Not sure if 8800gt costs more than 100 euros. Also make sure that your power supply has enough power.

Edit: I forgot the hd3850.

If pink flowers don't bother you, Asus has a 3 year warranty on their video cards and there's a 30$ MIR on newegg.

For a power supply, check out the Corsair 620HX or 650TX (2 x pci-e) or 750TX (4 x pci-e).

You should add the Freezer 7 to your build.

Nice, valid for Canada too. Too bad it has pink flowers on it.

Going from 8800gt, I'd suggest you wait for the 1 GB GDDR5 version of HD4870. 4850 is enough of a performance boost for me since i'm upgrading from 1950pro 256 Mb.

4850 supports dx10.1 and beats 9800gtx in a lot of benchmarks, especially with 4xAA and 8xAA on. And it consumes less power too. I'd wait a few weeks for a custom cooling solution from ATI's partners. It's a mistake to make such a powerful card single slot, when motherboards have everything integrated. And I'm sure the price will drop quickly to 180 once the initial high demand calms down and stock is high.
