actually its not just them, its the entire team of people that made the old gamespot back in the "golden" days. Rich gallup, Brian, jeff gertmann, greg kasavin, alex navarro, ryan davis etc... I loved gamespot back then and now days its loosing its appeal to me..those guys were the faces of this site and them not bein ghere anymore really puts a hurt to the overall sites appealness.
I wish the site could go back to those golden days
[QUOTE="W1ckedGo0se"]Valkyria Chronicles looks crazy cool.... Thats all I could think about when I was looking threw this topic...xXMcClaneXx
while i can see why someone would think it looks good.....i just can't find generic anime style appealing
this transcends video games for me also.....while i do respect it to some degree i just don't get inspired or intrigued by it.....i tend to like crazy styles like psychonauts and brutal legend and rare games.......im guessing because they seem to parallel my own artistic style
p.s- i will admit that akira is one of the most amazing things i've ever watched
Yeah it was crazy good, and the animation for that time was very groundbreaking. I dont know what is it about me and animation, i gues i tend to prefer great fluid animation instead of the most amazing graphics with stiff moving characters.
While i am a hardcore 360 owner ( that doesnt own a ps3...) Theres one thing ive noticed about a bunch of ps3 exclusives tha really impress me, and that is animation quality. Games like uncharted, ratchet and clank future ( and booty aswell), folklore, heavenly sword, little big planet, and more recently ( and one game i especially want to play for its graphics alone even though i dont like the show) naruto; ultimate ninja storm. One thing all this games have in common is extreme fluid animation for its characters ( at the very list the main character). No movement looks wonky, and they are just animated perfectly, moving like real people.
I wish more 360 games had this level of animation instead of relying only on horse power.
Like some people in this forum, I too have played the game and its pretty safe to say it will be AAA. I mean the single player alone is so much better than the last games its not even funny. Ask anyone who has finished it, the variety and sheer awsomeness is undeniable. Not to mention they really worked hard on the story, and the writing is much better. The multiplayer obviously has improved alot and is much better than before, so i dont see why anyone should worry.
It will be AAA, and like i siad in a previous post, i will accept ownage if it under delivers.
Lol you and I must have played a different game my friend. Ill admit though you are correct that the single player is MUCH better than the first, i wont spoil anything but the variety it offers is undeniable and it never gets repetitive like the first one by the time that you reach the last act. Also, the lenght of the sigle player is longer, but not by that much. But then again, there are so many different paths to choose during the game ( a whole lot more than the first), that i believe it requires replaying the game about 5 more times choosing different paths along the way.
Also, two new guns? lol. Not only are the new guns aplenty, but they are very useful in any situation. The burst pistol is much better in my opinion than any other handgun, and a perfect active reload means that if each burst shot connects an enemy, he will probably die. The flamethrower is incredible, with incredible visual effects to back it up, and is very useful. The mortar is a devastating weapon that you really nead to learn to get used to, but when you do its incredibly usefol. The new minigun is also devastating and feels incredibly powerful. The redesign locust rifle is much better than the last games, and i really enjoy being able to fire as fast as i can pull the trigger. Last but not least is the shield which i believe is much more useful than it looks, and can realy turn the tied of battle since you can get really close to an enemy for some headshots.
The last thing ill say about single player is that the story has greatly improved, and theere are some twists during the game that will definitely shock you, at times referencing government conspiracies and what not.
And also how can you say the online is the same? First theres 5 v5...second there are new modes such as submission which rocks and plenty others. The fact that host advantage is gone, adn the maps being MUCH better than the previous games, how can you say its the same?
IMO i believe you havnt played the game. Am hyping it 9.5 + and will admit ownage if it under delivers.
Dragon Quest is one of my favorite RPG series, i just love everything about them. Since id ont own a DS, i dont think ill ever have the pleasure to play the remakes of IV, V AND VI, and since i dont know japanese, neither will i play the Dragon Quest V remake for ps2. Any ways, what are the chances well see a DQ game on the psp?
[QUOTE="maziso2"]Um beside best graphics what would it win?[QUOTE="too_much_eslim"][QUOTE="maziso2"]No RE5 on any of the categories officialy makes those "awards" non valid IMO.too_much_eslim
IMO it should win best multiplatform game. I found it much more impressive than fallout 3, and besides, i loved RE4 to death so am a bit biased but still....by most standards its a very impressive game.
Fall Out 3 definately shouldn't have won,.which should have won IYO?
