I hope they don't go ahead with the release of this 80GB unit. Today it's just a small HD upgrade.

What if tomorrow brings a massive overhaul to the system? (Is it that far out of the question? If Sony releases upgrades just months after launch, what's to say it couldn't happen 12, 18, 24 months down the line?)

I just think it's a bad precedent for console gaming and is one step closer to merging console caming with computer gaming.

I just traded Madden 07,Motorstorm and bout 10 Ps2 games for Oblivian yesterday!I only got to make my person and travel in the underground before i had to take my night class.So far so good.This is the fist time playing it.Did i do the roght thing?I read all the reveiws first and they all were good so i went for it.vj226966
A little steep but it all depends on how good the PS2 games were. Madden 07 is great but 08 is always around the corner. I'm not a big fan of Motorstorm, so it really depends on how often you play those PS2 games and what games they were. That being said, Oblivion is a great game. Now that you've purchased it, you probably don't have time to play the other games anyway ;) My only recommendation is to be patient until you get out of the sewer. I found the game rather boring and stupid as a I navigated through the opening sewer but it quickly picks up from there. You should definitely read one of the online guides (or purchase one) to get some help too! (Gamespot and IGN offer some pretty nice Oblivion guides) And first tip! Be sure to manually save your game right before exiting the sewers (there's an autosave but you'll want a manual save in this case) In the event you want to start a new game and create a new character, that game save will allow you to skip the nearly 30 minutes of boring sewer tutorials!

I used the Umbra sword and I believe I beat it down one other time with the Apothecary (sp) staff that you get from Imperial Markets.

I am enthralled to inform you that you have just made what may be the biggest mistake of your life. The PS3's motion-sensing technology was ripped off the Wii, and the HD was ripped off the Xbox 360. Plus, the PS3 just doesn't have many good GAMES!benjaminjoel
Ripped off? So. As a Sony customer, all I care about is the fact that I get access to both a wonderfully large HD and motion controls. Why would I care where the source of those technologies are? Good games? Oblivion. And the rest are on the way. I'd say now is a good time to be a PS3 owner.

[QUOTE="Paper_Knife"]give 'em hell.Gordon_Slaveman

here is a what a conversation is gonna sound like with a customer, and myself.

Customer: What should i buy? 360 or PS3.

Me: Well buddy. Let me tell you what i think. Xbox is good, but, all i can really say for the future is.... Halo 3... it has good online feature to it, but not much more to it. The Ps3, is more about the future my man. See there isn't much to it right now, but it's gettin' better. It's only been out for 5 months, but it's making progress. You can wait to buy it till it gets cheaper but it will be a must by. The 360 won't have as many titles as PS3 will, Sony has proven they make good systems. So it's really up to you.

Customer: I have no idea what you said, or what you are telling me to do. I'm leaving.

Then you pickpocket the customer and purchase a PS3 anyway with his/her credit card :P

[QUOTE="mdl207"][QUOTE="Deihmos"][QUOTE="Gordon_Slaveman"]

I am now employeed with my local Gamestop, and will spread good word about the PS3!!! I will stick up for it, and tell the truth. I will not fanboy my way through, I will be honest to customers, and consumers. PS3 sales will jump up 1 million, because of my effort alone. Ok maybe not that much, but you get the picture.

FIGHT THE POWER!!!

stl_rams28

I say leave your fanboy views at home. There is no place for that at your job. So now everyone who comes in asking about the 360 or wii you try to get them to spend $600? That's just pathetic

Is that not the job of a good salesman? That's not pathetic. That's wise.

Ladies and gentlemen, I think we have a winner. I think he deserves a slow clap.

Thank you! Thank you! I love you all too!

[QUOTE="spliffchillum"]Since when is "the worst in US history" ? I read an article earlier that said in the 1960s, some dude went up top of Texas University's 27 story tower and was sniping people and killed 44 people before a cop climbed up there and killed him. DrStewie04

nah man, the VA Tech incident is the worst. that incident you are talking about had 16 people dieing. "He killed 16 people before he was shot to death by police." http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070416/ap_on_re_us/virginia_tech_shooting

This is the worst shooting spree in US History. 33 dead.

Does anyone else not see some serious success for Sony and the PS3 for the rest of the year? I know as a consumer, the more a company I support prospers, the more I as a customer get in return.SkyCastleDan
I hope so. There is a rumor about an 80GB version that I'm not so fond of. But one thing at a time! :)

Busted! [QUOTE="mdl207"]You should probably put down your imaginary PS3 before something breaks. He posted this original message at Apr 16, 2007 8:40 pm ET.
