I think, this time, Rockstar want to concentrate more on the interior rather then the exteriors like they always have. I expect in GTA IV, you will be able to go inside most of the shops, buildings, house, Starbucks etc with no load times. I think it would be an excellent idea. Thomas-CrownAgreed. I'd definitely take that over an immense map.

[QUOTE="Gordon_Slaveman"]I am now employeed with my local Gamestop, and will spread good word about the PS3!!! I will stick up for it, and tell the truth. I will not fanboy my way through, I will be honest to customers, and consumers. PS3 sales will jump up 1 million, because of my effort alone. Ok maybe not that much, but you get the picture.
FIGHT THE POWER!!!

I say leave your fanboy views at home. There is no place for that at your job. So now everyone who comes in asking about the 360 or wii you try to get them to spend $600? That's just pathetic
Is that not the job of a good salesman? That's not pathetic. That's wise.[QUOTE="mdl207"][QUOTE="LosDaddie"]I think it's obvious from the success that Microsoft and Nintendo have enjoyed that maintaining the massive marketshare Sony had at the end of last generation is a pipedream. I'm sure even Sony recognizes this. To merely finish first would be an incredible success. But I can see Sony doing it again. For those who actually own one and don't just go about messageboards hating on the PS3, it is a very well-built machine.I feel sorry for people that think the PS3 is in the same position as the PS2. Sure, both received negative press at launch, but the PS2 never faced such strong competition. Nor did the PS2 have such a price difference as its competitors.
Xbox360 =/ Dreamcast. And the GCN never out-sold the PS2 on a month-to-month basis. Same goes for the Xbox. Also, it was rare when the Xbox got a PS2 exclusive, but now it's normal for a PS3 exclusive to go to the x360.
The PS3 won't have a GTA exclusive game to help out either.
I can see the PS3 ending up #1, but it will have lost a ton of marketshare to get there. I don't know if I would consider that a "success" though.

Sony has said they expect the PS3 to increase it's marketshare over the PS2. But Sony also said the PS3 was capable of 4D gaming too. :|
I can see the PS3 coming out on top, but at a very close margin. I don't know if I would consider losing a ton of marketshare a "success" though.
I don't believe those comments were made recently. The 4D thing is blown out of proportion. It was clearly a joke. The 4th dimension is time... Again, I too can see the PS3 coming out on top and hey, winning's winning.I think it's obvious from the success that Microsoft and Nintendo have enjoyed that maintaining the massive marketshare Sony had at the end of last generation is a pipedream. [QUOTE="mdl207"]It might be a resolution adjustment. I get this really awkward "RIPPPP!" sound and a flickering of the screen each time I load into a game. My TV also displays a brief "No Signal" warning right before this occurs. I think it's because I have my system set to 1080i when most of the demos and games are slated to run at 1080p or 720p. I've heard from others that 720p is probably the optimal setting to have my system on so I plan on switching it tonight and seeing if the annoying "RIPPPPP!" and screen flickering (lots of different colors occur with the flickering. Usually there's a pink or green flicker) disappears. To be fair, once the game starts, there's absolutely no problems at all. I'd gladly take some resolution adjustment/flickering at the start of games then to have to hold my breath and pray that the console holds up during gameplay (you know, like some owners of some other systems have to do ;))The_Tombo
well i get that .. withouth the riiiip sound.
Its just that the signal is chaning between the 1080i and 720p and the tv needs to adjust.
awesome! glad to hear it's not just my system ;) Would you happen to know if 720p then is the optimal setting since my HDTV cannot handle 1080p?
