[QUOTE="megamatics"][QUOTE="white_sox"]So I was hooking up my ps2 to the PC(trying to anyways) and I've ran into some problems. I tried the networkset-up disc and I do what it says and at the end it says when I am testing my connection it says, "Ethernet Cable not connected to a network". Now I bought the cable needed, and hooked it up to the back of one of my PC slots...and still nothing. I am putting the cable on the right side(where the sticker was) and yet I can't get it working...am I hooking it up to the wrong place on my PC? Help is greatly appreciated.

[QUOTE="stoneystag4eva"]

Really need some help, iv sent messages to 2 people who might know but they havent replied...

I've got the old, big ps2 and an adapter in the back of it, its linked to the back of my pc and all connected up.

When i go on a game i get the error -612 and i looked it up on a site linked on here and it told me that i have closed ports in my firewall or network???

Please help im so desperate to get on ps2 online, its the only xmas present i was looking forward to :(

aojuko
i have the EXACT same problem. i need somehow to connect my ps2 to the wireless connection. its so stupid, there must be a way to do it???

log into your router by typing its ip address and enter the ip address of your ps2 in the DMZ this will put the PS2 infront of your firewall on your router and also you have to disable the firewall on which port its connected to the computer

so i posted this in another topc, so i'll just past it here..... I REALLY NEED HELP.

ok so, me and my brother have ps2's in one house.... so we decided on something, lets put 2 tv's and both ps2 in one room, ok, so we both have our network configurations working.... we both have "splinter cell chaos theory" and we figured if we hooked up each side of the ethernet cable to both ps2's then we could play as a LAN. but each time we try to connect. it says "onnection time timed out" WTF! i need help PLEAZZZEE

I have comcast Cable internet and a motorola modem. I try to connect my ps2 to the net. When i test the connection it says its good most of the time, seldomly its not. However, when i get to the DNAS authorization on Madden 07 or any other game for that matter it says that it timed out and that i should check my connection i think this is error 617? anyone know why its doing this? i really need help. could it possibly be that some of my ports are closed or something? i dont have an actual router or anything just straight to the modem. could the modem have a firewall that is messing it up?

phatmastag

firstly u can't connect 2 devices to one modem you require a router to distribute the connection your error requires a new network configuration.

Ok I have tried multiple things, including calling Time Warner because I have Roadrunner.  I have a slim PS2 and I just want to get online. I plug it in and go through the set up, and I get nothing.  Everytime it says connection timed out.  I have all of the correct items needed. I have no clue what is going on.  Please help.BigPete7978
Are you connecting both your PS2 and Computer to the Modem ( cause if you are a modem can support only 1 device u may require a router or switch to connect to the modem)

Sorry if this was answered already but 37 pages is just too much to look through.

Alright, I have Road Runner Cable internet and my modem is a Motorola SB4200.

I want to go from the modem to my computer via USB...and from the modem to my PS2 via network cable.

I want to be able to play my PS2 online, AND use the internet on my computer at the same time.

Is this possible? I can't get them to work at the same time. If my computer internet is working, my PS2 isn't. Then when my PS2 is working...my computer's internet isn't anymore. I've tried messing with some network settings but still have had no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

U will need switch because a modem can only be connected to 1 device at a time just get a switch or router and connect it via ethernet to the modem then get 2 other Straight thru ethernet cables and connect your computer and Ps2
