PS2 should have dvd playback compatibility. I suggest trying other discs, as some can cause problems in certain players; but if it keeps doing the same it's very strange.

I owned Seymour by levelling. Previous to that I got my backside served to me on a silver platter by him many times. There are a lot of strategies but since levelling is a universal beat-all strategy it's the one I usually go with.

I think the devs on this are neglecting the key element of gaming...Laziness. It's no coincidence that there is probably a higher level of obesity amongst gamers, and that the best selling gaming furniture is the la-z-boy style recliners are popular gaming chairs. I used to wake up at 4:40am to travel from my house to my uni, so if I didn't get home until 3pm, I was naturally tired...did I want to play games, yes...could I be arsed waving my arms about like an idiot...no! Also, that Natal demo looks like a wii ad on stupid...The kid with the skateboard...I mean jeez, come on, that's okay in a big, modern American detached house in the burbs but I live in a rickety old ground floor flat in a victorian building in ipswich, UK...if I jumped like that in here that nice LCD screen, and the natal would be on the floor in pieces. I have a wii, and the game I play on it most is Resident Evil 4, because I point and shoot and that's it...Otherwise, i'd rather play my ps3 or 360, because I can bung a control in my hands which can sag effortlessly into my lap and furiously manipulate those buttons until my killing/sporting/racing/fighting desires have been sated. LONG LIVE LAZINESS!

I wouldnt sell your xbox to get a ps3, I would get a new xbox AND ps3. Seriously, metal gear solid 4 and the blu-ray make it worth the money.

I think it's getting into dangerous territory here. By saying Gran Turismo realism, and real, motoring highways and byways...I am thinking Driving Simulator...a new venture by microsoft for people who can't actually drive...That would be boring as hell...I mean, sitting back doing 25 in a steadily moving line of traffic because you can't pull into the opposite lane because there's an impact barrier in the way. Think of all those country lane crashes as you plough into a tractor at 155mph when you do finally get some speed up. I'm thinking it has potential...but no the potential to be a game as such, more flight simulator with cars...

Agree with most. I think that would be a terrible idea. Like making the fanciest of fancy meals and serving it with fries and a coke...Just cheapens a great experience. Besides which, GT is an excellent game as it is, and, if it aint broke don't fix it.

Final Fantasy VIII tried to go Wild West with Irvine Kinneas, and while his limit break could be useful, his character had about as much appeal as a Uwe Boll videogame movie. I think the main barrier is that the Wild West protagonists are all major bad-asses. Clint Eastwood, Man-With-No-Name types who talk little, do little and kill lots. If they go against that the character will seem out of place and annoying; but without it, I fear most companies will not be able to write a story successfully. It's a shame really, because sometimes quiet, or even silent characters are best...Ryu in Breath of Fire 3 anyone?

Only got my xbox a week ago, so I wasn't really checking out the news but, to be fair the PS3 year doesn't look like it's going to be that brilliant. There is the potential for FFXIII on Xbox but, anyone who thinks that will be on time for an october/november 2009 release is, most likely and sadly, mistaken.

Duck Tales (nes) was a classic, as was Super Mario Bros. 3...Very rarely was there a saturday morning when I didn't play those, while waiting for my dad to wake up and join us in a game of duck hunt...Loved the nes. Also, Desert Strike on master system...as well as Alex Kidd in miracle world (who doesn't remember that theme tune.) PS1 era there was worms...Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX, absolutely obsessed over IX, I still remember falling asleep getting my hair cut because I hadn't slept because I'd been doing the chocobo treasure sidequest and trying to beat Ozma on FFIX. Also used to religiously play some weird game where you were a guy on a grid of cubes and they would come at you one at a time...and you had to get rid of the grey ones while leaving the black ones...Cannot remember what it was called for the life of me. Oh and nearly forgot! Angrily throwing my controls after being owned by my brother at multiplayer Syphon Filter 2!

Whether they are up to their hype is for you to decide, but they are essential plays! Silent Hill is the only game to have actually disturbed me, to have made me feel fear...not just a resident evil jumpy sort of fear; but an ominous sense of foreboding. As for MGS, well it looks a little dated now but the gameplay is second to none and the storyline drags you in...and when all is said and done who doesnt love choking the guards and running away for fun... "huh? What was that!?"
