It is all to easy to complain about the broken system we refer to as the American government. Sure there are a myriad of issues that are more important than video game regulation, but that does not mean that it should be abused by pandering politicians as a means to recruit voters. Politicians and candidates that spew baseless accusations towards the industry and gamers should be made to feel the united force of those they offend and dismiss.

Today, I signed up for the Video Game Voters Network and while I am not sure what they will be able to accomplish going forward, it is a positive and necessary start. However, it will certainly have a better chance of being successful if people join. So, if you are over 18, I suggest you head over to the site and sign up as it only takes a minute or two.

I got the RROD last Thursday. I left it running for about 30 mins and restarted it and did not get the RROD. When I turned it off and on again about 3 hours later I got the RROD. I called it a night and tried again on Friday. Once again I got the RROD. I left it running and unplugged everything but the powder cord. After about 40 mins, I restarted it and it booted up properly. I then proceeded to leave it on the entire weekend (this time with a fan blowing on it) and the unit performed perfectly. I turned it off late last night and restarted it and did not get the RROD. I fired it up this morning and again did not get the RROD. I had already ordered the box to send the unit back to Microsoft, but now it is working. My guess is that the unit will fail at some point, but I cant send it back if it is working as all that will do is cost me gaming time.

In short, if you get the RROD once and manage to fire it up again without the RROD, I suggest you leave it running because when you restart it you might get the RROD again. Of course doing this might break something else, but if you want to make sure you get a weekend in, you might as well try it.

Has anyone gotten the RROD during a game as opposed to during start up?

Thats a thought, but on the other side, it is nice not having to buy the wireless adapter or the hd dvd drive to play the games to want to play.

It seems as though you have had your account for years, but this is the first time you have posted. Everything you have written has been slanted in such a manner as to attempt to deflate any and all debate. While I have no problem with that, I find it a bit odd.

I agree with you in prinicpal. The user score for games, while a forum of sorts, is not intended to be a platform for expression beyond that of subjective views regarding quality and enjoyment. However, the damage has been done. The scoring of the game has already become a negative outlet. So, should those that agree with the reported actions of CNET and Eidos give the game a 10 rating? Should those that are waiting for more information give it a 5? I for one am not sure, but since the score clearly has nothing to do with the game it self, it has become an unofficial poll of sorts.

... Shopt S-Mart.

I wanted "Shop Smart. Shop S-Mart." but the space was limited.

Sure there are some extenuating circumstances behind the meteoric drop in score, but what does that mean? Does it serve a purpose? Is the recent scoring of the game the best message the public can send to Eidos and Gamespot? My initial thought is yes. It is not a weak grammatically incorrect petition, but a simple poll that shows how concerned people and demonstrates their willingness to express their discontent, or perhaps their agreement.

In short, score the Kane & Lynch game according to how you feel about the issues at hand. I for one, would like to see how it turns out.

[QUOTE="mernmern"]Granted there were a number of variations of Deus Ex, but I would love to see a sequel to Deus Ex: Invisible War (xbox) on the 360. GamingThief

Me too.

Well, it seems the Eidos Montreal studio will be making Deus Ex 3. A wish was made and it has since been granted. Nice.

Cold Planet. The first post hit it right on the head.

Hyped Game + Nothing Else Out = Must Buy = Huge Disapointment.

I keep trying to pick it up every month or so because I want to like it, but alas it is simply not fun.

I thought the ending was a nice homage to the original Halo ending. As for the campaign in general, I loved it and the replay value is terrific when you factor in the online co-op, skulls, and meta game. My only complaint was that the difficulty on legendary should have been scaled-up for 3 and 4 player sessions.
