For me personally is 1968-1976. I feel many genre's peaked within that time frame such as R&B/Soul, reggae, rock, jazz, funk, punk etc etc you name it.

The talent roster then too e.g. Marvin Gaye, Queen, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Joni Mitchell, David Bowie, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Aerosmith, EWF, Isley Brothers, Bob Marley and many more... In fact I feel bad for those who were born between 1970-1976.

Anyways... What about you guys?

@Yams1980:

I'm talking about your name 1980 I'm assuming you were born in 1980 which means you were too young for the 80s.

That is my whole point

@Yams1980:

No offence but you barely remember the 80s musically, I was listening to half the artists I mentioned while you were an infant. Is not your era.

The 90s were awful if you ask me.

@palasta:

The link of that article even has the YouTube video about loudness war which peaked in the 90s into the 00s.

What also hurt music was Soundscan when it was all about week 1 sales not the artistry and it wasn't about you being a longevity of an artist anymore.

Sampling as well... Remember the amount of songs of the 70s and 80s that were sampled throughout the 90s into the 00s?

@lamprey263:

Those that grew up during the 90s saw all the bad trends that kick started in the 90s.

Which is why I feel bad for those that grew up in the 90s. Who did they have? Mariah Carey? Spice girls? Nirvana? Nsync?

Please... My era had Michael Jackson, Prince.

I also lived through the 70s which I think is the best decade for music.

The 90s were bad and the 00s were even worse.

@warmblur:

I mean... There's a reason why Prince said the 60s, 70s and 80s were the golden ages of music in 2011.

You're only saying the 90s because you grew up in that era, you weren't there prior to the 90s.

I lived through the 70s and 80s. The 90s kick started all the bad trends we have to this day.
