@Korun4869 I think that anger/competition is part of the game though. In a way, I'd argue the best way to play is with random people- it kind of fits the "heist" profile in sort of a "Reservoir Dogs" kind of way- complete anonymity to prevent the rest of the team getting busted. Sometimes you get that one psycho who just starts shooting civilians ala Vic Vega, the guy that wants to take on the cops like a one-man army, your dumb new guy that can't quite keep up, etc. I like the challenge of working with strangers and the frustration that ensues- it's more immersive, but that's just like my opinion, man. :D
@CyberOcelot I'd argue that Kojima clearly has a very unusual and problematic view of Western culture- as much as I enjoy his games, the themes and primary subjects of his stories always seem incredibly surreal, melodramatic, and ungrounded, which is the antithesis of Western storytelling.
The MGS series, in my opinion, is a very Eastern story driven by Japanese pop-culture, but set in a Western military setting. The visual art is very western, but the themes, dialogue, and central story elements are heavily Japanese. If Kojima is trying to target Western audiences, he has a very unusual and flawed way of doing so.
@grey_fox1984 @Scarab83 @IndremaLover Stealth action maybe... the story... I suppose, but it's not really a "good" story by any literary concept. It's more like just a campy/crazy story. There's not really any depth, just sort of the anticipation of ANYTHING being possible.
@manieeeee People hear this cryptic shit, like the stuff in these tweets, and call it "genius", but it really just seems like a childish attempt at "depth" when really his character is just a walking stereotype. Go home, Kojima, you're still in high school, apparently. Dude needs to take a creative writing class asap.
I dunno man... I think I'm just going to stick to Western games.
I'm all for deep, meaningful stories in games, and symbology is a great tool for story telling, but this overly-layered cryptic crap is just juvenile to me, as do Kojima's tweets.
