Yes every platform owner has their prefered exclusives
Yes they have their prefered layout, UI, or game with a group of friends
But unavoidably every platform has their dry spell, and during these times it sucks to have to pay a fee just to be able to connect to the Internet and access simple entertainment from the console you own.
You paid for your console, you are paying for your internet, you're paying for your Netlfix account, but none of that matters until you pay the console company additional for them to allow you to connect the things that you already own at home. This really is the big deciding factor in why my friends and family always choose Playstation. It's like out of the box your brand new phone cant access your wifi unless you pay a monthly fee
On a serious note, when both games have a dry spell, atleast I can watch Netflix on my Playstation without having to pay a fee
Coming from a Playstation only owner, I should rather bleed my eyes out with another Transformers, Twilight saga than to watch and play a clumsy B-movie David Cage interactive YouTube video.
I forgot which japanese dev said, I think Kojima, said that most japanese developers are stubborn in not wanting change, sticking to what have worked, not innovating and never sharing development knowledge, aka almost everyJapanese dev keep their own development secrets and don't share tech with the press.
How most still keep the old way of japanese game development by having one guy work months decorating an in game vase for example that's why Japanese games take years to go gold. Kojima have adopted the western way of game development where certain people or crew are assigned specific tasks with deadlines and emplyees are to be blunt about feedbacks and alays sharing knowledge and techniques.
@Planeforger: I mean you can still have interesting character without making the player sit through constant five minute dialogues, it starts to get old. I'd take a Rockstar approach and give the player control while the AI talk so you're not constantly trapped in a cutscene making decisions
Are you the only one underwelmed? Did you not see the 3-4 Uncharted hate thread duplicates as soon as the trailer came out?
@with_teeth26: Agreed, David Cage writes some of the most useless plots not to mention the useless gameplay
