Play.com will have started pretty early processing the pre-orders since i can imagine theres a fair number of them, we at argos here have had over 30 copies in stock for a few days now...obviously we aint selling them until release...but the stock is plentyfull so i wouldnt worry about not receiving the pre-orders you have made ;)

Id say run it on both and see which looks best (to be a fair test use component on both) then use the tv which wins the test.

component will look (in a real life practical test) just as good as the hdmi input so dont worry if you choose the non-hdmi tv.

[QUOTE="mrvanx"]

Ive just now updated and tried an Xvid video from my XP based pc....no go. However i might test it further just incase.

That update was not the fall update.

Microsoft will never support a format that almost every illegal movie is encoded in. Just convert them to WMV.

Yes im aware of that sir, just making sure so to definitivly debunk the mythical Xvid support. I already do convert to WMV VC-1.

I invested in the RGB cable for my 360 and it cleared up the picture quite alot!! 480i works just nicely at the moment....HDTV is still waaay off for me since they cost a crapload (a good one that is).

Had my elite for around 3 weeks and its fine! The longest it has been powered up is about 6 hours streaming video from TVersity running on my network, havent got a HDTV yet so i wasnt asking for anything better than 480i...it was probably downscaling though so a bit of work for it to do.

No problems whatsoever.

APART FROM........msn messenger doesnt sign in at all, password is correct and everything it stopped signing in after the last update and i see no help in the knowledgebase or anything!! IS this common??
