He's alright...but I have to go with Snake FTW!!!tryfe_lyn

I agree that I like snake more... but he's gotta die eventually.

At least, that seems to be the direction Hideo is heading.

Would you accept Raiden as a permenant replacement?

[QUOTE="mstc_Q"] Yeah I know it's got a crappy framerate compared to the X-Box... but...Jandurin
There's your answer.

There are two questions, and one is the only real one. I read the review, I saw what they said. But WHY Does it have a crappy framerate is my question.

Why is the PS3 version so inferior?

Yeah I know it's got a crappy framerate compared to the X-Box... but...

Isn't the PS3 supposed to be the more powerful system?

I buy systems for the system not the games...spidermonkey11

That makes little sense to me.

Do you like collecting things or something? Because a system is a paperweight without the games.

You know how Gamespot RARELY gives out a 10/10

Well I was looking at the list of 10/10 games and I was shocked to see Chrono Cross up there.

Personally I don't think the game deserves an 8/10, but I would understand them giving it as high as a 9.2/10. But a 10/10? No way. That game wasn't good enough to be considered perfect.

One of the biggest design factors off the top of my head was the fact that it had 40 characters and you could only have 2 of them in your party. With that 40 characters, even though it says on the back of the cover that they each have "intricate parts of the storyline" really there are about five that have anything to do with anything consequencial - which is fine if they actually had some amount of character development going on; instead every character basically says the exact same thing in every situation barring thier accent changer due to the "Ingenious"speechsystem the design team came up with.

Aside from that, even though the diehard fans claim the storyline was amazing (And it may well be) its presentation is so dang vague at parts it's difficult to enjoy it the first time through on its own, and even on the second time through you might have to visit http://chronocompendium.com/Articles.html to fill in the gaps that make it a sequal to Chrono Trigger.

And finally, in speaking of the numorous unecessary characters, each of them have maybe 3 abilities that are unique to themselves, making character combinations limited (Or rather, inconsequencial) as well; this is removing a lot of depth the battle system COULD have had. There were a few combo attacks that made it seem silly to ever use the turnip or the scarecrow - so why even have them in there at all?

If you were on the news, for any reason at all, would you want them to blur your face so no one knows it's you?

How do you feel about Raiden?

Personally, I liked the kid. I thought MGS2 was great, and I do hope to see him be the main character in a future release now that he's finally mastered his ninja techniques.

There is usually one or two games that will give you a reason to buy a console. If I were to pick ONE game for each console I've owned that I would have bought the console for, it would be as thus:

Nintendo (NES): Legend of Zelda (Back in the day)

Super Nintendo: Chrono Trigger

N64: Smash Bros

Gamecube: Smash Bros Melee

Playstation: Metal Gear Solid

Playstation 2: Metal Gear Solid 3

Gameboy: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening

Gameboy Color: Legend of Zelda: Oracle of the Ages (And Seasons)

Gameboy Advance: I can honestly say... None

Nintendo DS: Same as advance :P But somehow I've owned both systems.

Why I would buy a next generation system:

Xbox 360: Resident Evil 5 (Only because that would be the only game I'm REALLY interested in even though it's also going ot be on the Playstation.)

Playstation 3: Metal Gear Solid 4

Wii: Smash Bros Brawl

How about you?

Good. I would't have it any other way. I'm a fan of a broad spectrum of games, and that includes Nintendo's games.i_like_pizza

Right, but I like to stick to one system per generation, I don't have the money for anything otherwise.

That said, if you had to choose carefully, depending on what you want, Nintendo hasn't been the best choice for single player games.

The GameCube and N64 had Manhunt 2, Bully, Monster Hunter 3, Fatal Frame 4, Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, Wii Fit, Wii Sports, Zack & Wiki, Okami???????????

thread failed

darth-pyschosis

Wait... What?

There is no Fatal Frame 4...

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles is the only FF game on the GCN, and it's kind of dumb.

Okami was originally on the PS2.

And Dragon Quest? also not out yet. I don't have high hopes for it at all.
