I know it's easier to blame the software, but based on my experiences with Crysis 2 that's just wishful thinking. I was really mad at the God of War 3 team untill I realized it was the hardware. Call Sony and see if they can help.donalbaneI could do that. But you said you had to buy a new PS3 (which I personally wouldn't do assuming that I would have to buy the new PS3 at/near full price, especially if only 2 games in my library are encountering the issue). So did they tell you to buy a new one or did you not get help from them?

Crysis 2 is epic, end of.Venom_RaptorOr it might be if there weren't game-breaking glitches and graphical hitches.
Squaresoft's actions (or lack thereof) are sometimes very nonsensical.
Unless they're giving it away at a very low price, I don't feel like playing the entire game again just for some updated graphics. It was good while it lasted though.
crysis 2 CTR360Please tell me you're joking.
Uncharted 2 kind of reminds me of RE4 in terms of the way the cutscenes tie in with the actual gameplay. Different genres, both great games.
My PS3 started doing that too, and I blamed God of War III. Guess what, though? It was the PS3 itself. Had to buy a new one. Hope that isn't the case with you.donalbaneThe first time my PS3 froze was quite a while ago, with Oblivion when trying to reload a saved session. Since then I've played several other PS3 games. I did not encounter the issue again until Crysis 2, where two separate sessions encountered the freeze within a span of a few days. From my experience, it seems more like a software issue since I never had these problems with other PS3 games although I played them much more than Crysis 2 and Oblivion.
Another frozen game. I'm trying to play a saved session, and it reloads the content successfully, but after I press X to enter the game, it just freezes. Pressing the PS button or any other button on the controller doesn't do anything. All I see is the frozen screen and all I hear is the music. I have to press the Power button on the console to turn the thing off. No matter how many times I try, it just keeps freezing.
This is the second time this has happened. The first time I decided to start from the beginning again since I wasn't too far into the game, but I'm not starting over again this time if it's just going to freeze again later.
The same thing happened occasionally with Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, but not this frequently, and at least Oblivion allowed multiple save sessions (unlike Crysis 2, which only allows one session at a time - seriously, what the hell is up with that?), so I could backtrack to a nearby session to bypass the freeze.
Is there is a way to get around the freeze without having to start over? Otherwise, that's it for Crysis 2.
Assuming ceteris paribus ...
1st - Better for aiming / More effective sniping
3rd - Better view of surrounding area / More effective in close combat with multiple enemies
I've played great games in both styles.
Anyone know where I can find a PAL version of Chrono Cross if there is one?
