There was a message asking if I would like to download and install the latest update (1.02). But the download/install was really quick; I'm not sure if it even happened. Usually a software update on the PS3 took at least a few minutes, but this one took no more than a few seconds.
Did I do this correctly or should I try reinstalling, and if so how would I do this?
I got the PS3 in Jan 2010. I usually only play my PS3 to finish a game I like, which may consume several hours per week. Otherwise, I don't play it at all. If the daily average is calculated based on the cumulative hours divided by the number of days between Jan 2010 and now, it would be significantly below 1 hour, and probably less than 1 minute on average.
They better release a patch, not only fixing the crapload of glitches but also the subpar graphics, sfx, etc. ... or else I'm returning this piece of junk. Seriously, I'm not impressed with this game atm and I'm surprised it got the scores it did.
Well that sucks. There are some PS1 games I would like to play that apparently do not have PAL versions. Any recommendations?

The one recommendation would be to get a North American PS3 (of course, then you wouldn't be able to play UK PSOne games and the ones on the UK PlayStation Store wouldn't work either- I've tried several to confirm this on my own system).

NTSC games are usually playable only on consoles bought in the US or Canada, but apparently the PS3 is region-free and can play these. So if I bought a PS3 in the UK, will I be able to buy an NTSC PS1 game off of Ebay and play it? And moreover, is it true that the newer slim model cannot play PS2 games?
