The only reason I didn't buy this game is the rhythm elements.
The rest of it looks stunning.

that Microsoft buying everyone who actually knew how to make games
was a bad idea?

Something like The Lord of the Rings trilogy will never happen again.
That age is over.
Peter Jackson, as great as he could be as director,
will not be allowed to do what he actually wants.
Heck he was barely even allowed to do what he wanted in 1999.
This is a cash grab, just like The Hobbit.
The most detailed fantasty story ever conceived is now nothing more
than a hooker to be dressed up in the gaudiest modern fashions,
and handed to highest bidder to be f***ed then dropped and passed around to the next.

This is why Microsoft just bought every other game company they could afford.
Because they recognised their own total incompetence
for making and understanding games.

Not many psychopaths you can identify immdiately, just on sight.
Andrew Wilson is one of them though.
I am genuinely convinced that Borderlands 2's Handsome Jack is based on him.

Todd Howard is a sociopath.
An absolutely out-of-control compulsive liar and a literal professional manipulator.
Every word off his forked tongue is a calculated play in a financial strategy.
And, he's always been this way.
Whether it's lying about being a member of the high school chess club,
Fallout 3 having 300+ endings,
The Starfield trailer showing real-time rendered graphics,
Fallout 76 having 16x the detail of Fallout 4,
his career is a string of intentional deceptions about every single project he's involved in.

He sees every single Bethesda customer as a wallet with an internet connection,
to be opened and exploited by any means necessary.

There's no such thing as a “genuinely nice guy” who acts this way,
and the fact that anyone can still trust him after he's consistently lied to them
time after time, without fail, for decades, because he has a nice jacket or something,
is a kind of willful ignorance that can and does make people lose faith in our entire species.

This just sounds like someone is trying to ruin his reputation.
He's known for his incredible work ethic,
and for his infinite patience with fans,
and for being a gentleman generally.
And since this is exactly thing he accused Vin Diesel of doing on set,
it would be beyond weird for him to start doing it himself
unless he had a valid reason which my guess is being deliberately ignored.
Just like the fact they added the “and gets someone else to throw away his pee” bit,
and then the “but that last bit is probably not true” part.
Yeah, sounds like someone is just out to get him.
