@illegal_peanut: Most of the reviewers I watched on YouTube couldn't even bring themselves to finish the game. Sometimes because of game-breaking bugs, but oftentimes just because it was too simple and boring and clunky.
I knew it would be bad, but “2” is almost impressive. I was thinking, “Why the hell does this game even exist?” and it looks like the publisher had the same epiphany half way through the dev cycle.
The originals were a test of patience. A lot of work put into them and their lore and story, but something of a chore to actually play. It's good if that universe could be put to better use, although I doubt the remakes will be 10% as deep.
I totally get it, but they should have gone this route from the start. Unless you're just endlessly binging and and don't have a lot going on, of course you're going to be not using it most of the time, and you're going to share it when you're not using it.
I don't know if they did that deliberately to grow fast, or if they were just short-sighted and overlooked it, but now they're going to pay heavily for doing it late.
@VXXXJesterXXXV: The Rock has been in loads of terrible films. He obviously doesn't care about that. He even jokes about how his name has become synonymous with bad cinema. And he's the highest paid actor in Hollywood, so he doesn't need the money. And Black Adam still grossed double its budget. I don't think this theory holds up very well.
