@grasu: PC players Id imagine want the 64bit exe file which can access more RAM. This has several benefits. Running smoother, faster loads, better mod support and compatibility, etc.
Downside is for console players who have already played since they have to pay full price and its only 40 on PC.
This version is a lot better because of the lighting model, optimized engine, better mod tools, and can use more RAM.
Its just a better modding platform, game is just a bonus.
@fallkan: I was referring to current PS4 games. Games like Bloodborne, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 have serious frame rate issues and just the base PS4 Pro will at least get to a stable 30.
I agree with you that Sony should work with publishers and developers to find ways to encourage them to patch games. I think it is a moronic move to just have the mandate going forward because games are released far less frequently as they were in previous gens.
If I were Sony i would eat the patch costs for devs and possibly waive certification fees for games released within the last 2 years. That would encourage those devs to do it.
After experimenting with SLI for a couple of years I decided that the headaches were not worth the trouble. Decided to go with a single card to ease my mind. The 1080 should max any game for at least the next 3 years. I have a GTX 970 SLI system if anyone is interested.
@kyelo: Your logic is why those 3rd parties STOP putting games on the systems. Ive been a Nintendo gamer all my life, since the original NES release in 85. Third party games dont sell because most Nintendo gamers are looking for the Nintendo-like experience. That is fun games with creativity, great (and functional) gameplay, top quality production values. Problem is, most high profile games dont bother perfecting these elements. They can patch games later and sell you DLC.
Nintendo has ALWAYS had a very high standard for gameplay quality and this is what the Ninty fan base expects. On top of that, Ninty consoles are almost always sold at a profit so they dont need to rely on software sales to make a profit. 3rd parties do. Games would sell on Nintendo consoles if they created experiences that are more creative, with a higher production standard than they currently have. Nintendo owners dont want ports, we want unique and creative experiences. Games like Viva Pinata, LBP, Tearaway, EA's Create, Blink series from back in the day, Psychonauts, Uncharted etc. all would do well on nintendo consoles. Madden, Call of Duty, Batman, Halo, Dark Souls.........wouldnt.
Ports dont work, Vita/PSP proved that also. DS/3DS succeeds because of the experiences.
