Uncertain though imma give you the benefit of doubt. That sorta sucks in that case, What does annoy me is discharge time... the controller drains in 4-6 hours tops.

Xbox one controllers lasts 12 hours easily on a single charge.

Not certain how you use your controller, but the DS3 felt a hell of a lot more flimsy than the DS4 does. could the problem be you perhaps?

Note Xbox 360 controller feels industructable... but it isn't (i managed to kill 3 of m)

In sony's defense... the controller is a major improvement. Though it looks mildly like 2 limp dicks attached to a touch pad, it is a hell of a lot more comfy than the last few dual shocks.

I'm gonna do it... again.
