I am thinking of picking up a XBox 360 this weekend. But I do not know what game to buy and would rather rent from an online game site. Is there enough demos on the 360 to keep me busy? Or would it be better if I went to a local game store and rented one there?

Thanks.

Who cares how rich each company is? Neither is going away any time soon. What a waste of a thread. Sheesh....

The 24" capable of 1900x1200 is around $800. The 20.1" capable of 1650x1050 is around $300. Is 1650x1050 versus 1080p worth $500 when playing the XBox?

I will be purchasing a XBox 360 in the next month or two. Since I cannot afford a HDTV I am in the market to purchase a Widescreen HDTV-capable LCD computer monitor. I am currently looking at a BenQ FP241W or an Asus AL2423Wdr. Both are 24" monitors capable of 1080p. The BenQ even has HDMI inputs.

I was wondering if any one has used either of these monitors to play games on their XBox. Also since both monitors have composite as well as VGA inputs which would be the best quality?

In addition would I lose any quality purchasing a smaller monitor? (20.1" capable of 1680x1050 resolution) The price difference is substantial.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your post. I found it very well thought out and covered both sides well. I am in the market for a next-gen console. Honestly, the one thing that is keeping me from getting a PS3 is not the lack of games but the HDTV requirement. I currently don't have a HDTV and won't for quite awhile. So to purchase the system I'm looking at around $2,600 for a HDTV plus the PS3. The XBox 360 does not have this issue with their VGA cables. I can hook it up to a LCD monitor capable of HDTV resolutions at a fraction of the price. If the PS3 released VGA cables I would really have to rethink my position.

Don't care what you think, don't care who you are. I just plain don't care. I do care about PS3's astronomical price tag that it cannot currently back up. I do care that there are tons of PS3's on the shelves. I do care that there will probably be hardware issues with the PS3 in the near future.

Mine likes World of Warcraft, Neverwinter Nights, Baldurs Gate, Vampire: The Masquerade and those silly puzzle games.

[QUOTE="Hammerofjustice"][QUOTE="needo37"][QUOTE="Hammerofjustice"] still, If everyone has a PC then why buy a 360?

If every one has a bicycle why buy a car? See I can make stupid nonsensical analogies too! Not everyone has a "gaming PC" or is willing to invest the money to upgrade their machine that was gaming 2-3 years ago to make it gaming now. For me personally it is cheaper to buy a 360 then would be to upgrade my PC only to have to upgrade it again in 1.5 to 2 years. This way I can spend the money on a machine that will last presumably for another 4 years.

You don't need a $2000+ gaming pc to play games. All you need to do is, instead of buying that 360 buy a graphics card.

Really? Cause you know what's in my machine right now? If you do then we need to take your special gifts on the road!
