I think it's too early for me to say at this point. What games will it have? Will it have any decent exclusives?

Also I'm waiting on PS5, Xbox and Nintendo's entry into the next gen. If PS5 is fully backwards compatible as rumored then that may be the direction I go into. I'd definitely wait later in the console's life to onboard.

If Stadia or PS Now provide access to specific games that come out without the need of hardware they may serve as a stop gap

I'll say Blockbuster. Not necessarily for films but for the awesome games section that my local store had. It wasn't just the place for renting games but was also a part of the education process.

The kiosks let you try out the games and consoles not to mention the huge print section they had for video games. I would say the fall of print media in gaming is something I miss as much as Blockbuster.

Cool looking console, and given its rarity I'd say it could sell for 5000 USD. The problem is it doesn't have any games available.

I mean considering Sega Divers is usually listed around $3k it's a safe bet that this piece of history that never saw a release will pass $5k easily

Im surprised to see so many people hating on VR. I have VR and have to say it's actually a really great experience. There is a bit of a learning curve to it though. I wish the library of games was larger and more diverse but I get it that the VR thing is in it's infancy still.

The three games I've enjoyed the most are Astro Bot, Doom VFR and Skyrim VR. While VR hasn't stopped me from going the traditional route with just a console and TV I will say it will be next near impossible to play Skyrim on just a TV going forward.

Movies and TV shows have had little to no influence on what I choose to listen to musically.

Music was my first career choice. Hanging around musicians all day was where I found out about what I know.

As of lately Spotify has helped me to discover the new up and coming artists and I'm having a ton of fun using the app.

My picks are:

Timesplitters

Streets of Rage

Red Dead Redemption

I was never a huge fan of Perfect Dark. Timesplitters was a frequent play for me during Gen 6. I picked Streets of Rage as I grew up with the game and had a ton of fun playing alongside my friends. Red Dead over Uncharted because I've played Red Dead but haven't played Uncharted.

I'll say the Dreamcast as well. I love the heavy arcade influence.

My favourite Xbox racing games were Sega titles as well and they would have been DC titles if they didn't EOL it early

Been playing Final Fantasy X as of late. Not as crazy about the game now as I once was before.

I'm older now and just really don't have time for the cutscenes that can't be skipped

It really depends on what you want out of the gaming experience. PS5 will be providing 8k support and will be a console that impresses with technical specifications. It is also rumored to be backwards compatible and will still support PSVR. The next Xbox will be similar when it comes to technical specifications. As for the games library we really don't know what to expect but ask yourself this, what impact did exclusives make in this generation? Also, how important are exclusives to you?

The Switch is a console that's fueled on exclusives as their third party titles fall short. Nintendo is attempting to right the ship by continuing old series, working on new exclusives or new concepts for existing ones as well as remaking classic games. However, as great as this is to see Nintendo continue the legacy for many of their series, the actual hardware itself is subpar.

Right off the bat you're aware of a joystick problem. Remember on the lite version there's no joycon so there's no getting out of it. While the Lite version may be a superior handheld platform the original Switch hooks up to a TV and it is a piece of hardware that doesn't hold up to consoles released before it in the same generation.

I will say this, if you do choose the Switch do yourself a favor and don't get the Lite version of it. Both suffer quality issues in regards to the manufacturing but the original version gives you enough options to have a workaround if you're affected by it. The Lite version gives you only one option so you will be relying on the same two joysticks and screen throughout the life of the product. I personally feel like the Lite version is just a cheap way for onboarding.
