As a MASSIVE fan of Remedy's games and someone who cites Sam Lake as being an inspiration (as far as writing goes) I must say that this sounds way too convoluted and overambitious for me to latch on to. It's more than possible that being an Xbox One exclusive contributes to some of that but it's mostly the overly convoluted sounding system, the lack of a potential release schedule, and the potential disaster that a TV/game synergy holds that's telling me to not hold my breath for Quantum Break. To emphasize, the fact that there's no solid release schedule for the game yet is giving me a gut feeling that this might turn out to be Remedy's 'Antichrist'.
I wish Remedy well and hope that they achieve what they want with Quantum Break, but I will not be partaking in that celebration or the lamentation if this comes short of their expectations. Cheers, fellas!
@Clownbabby Some people just don't get it unless you literally poke out their eyeballs and place it on the facts.
When Sony says "decisions about DRM would be left up to third-party publishers..." they mean that publishers have the freedom to place any kind of access restriction or whatever on their games, which is the same thing we've been dealing with in the current generation of consoles with the Online Pass and locked-out DLC. Sony are NOT allowing any restrictions on trading physical copies (third-party or otherwise) since they control the platform and the network.
All in all, the PS4 is going for the same model as that of the PS3, only this time it requires the user to subscribe to PS Plus to play online multiplayer, which is kind of a bummer but given the system's surprisingly considerate pricing and the amazing value that is PS Plus, I do say that it's quite justified.
@mikemaj82 'Tinfoil hat'? Are you asserting that I'm some kind of conspiracy theory nut, wasting away my life chasing something that's never been there?
@mikemaj82 Because no one wants to buy a console that holds your games and personal information for ransom (and may also give you cancer) to play one game?
