I have done thermal compound replacement to fix the YLOD and it worked fine for me after disassembling my ps3... after a while, this problem suddenly occured. Could it be due to the disassembly process? maybe I forgot to attach something where it should belong? do I have to re-open my PS3 again? because my PS3 can't really detect any wireless device at all!

try to put in the VCD, go to the video section, over your selection, press triangle then choose display all... incase this doesn't work, convert the files is your only option...

I got a YLOD and now I have simi-fixed it myself (very easy and nothing special reqiured) If you need any explanation just ask ;) If you got an overheating, your processor is getting very hot and may affect your ps3's motherboard If you got a YLOD, that means your ps3's motherboard is affected by the super hot processor and your ps3's motherboard got some fragments that caused the connection between them to cut!

We all know that 3DTVs are very expensive (for nothing)
Sony says that (see this)
What really bothers me is that 3DTVs require you to wear special glasses that makes you look stupid to enjoy the 3D feature... While, there are new 3DTVs that require no glasses to enjoy the 3D feature are being manufactured and they may hit the stores anytime soon.
So, what the heck is the overpriced 3DTVs!!!? for a soon outdated technology!?
They will completely be a funny thing to talk about in the next year 2011... (the glasses thing)

i didnt know they had tvs that dont require glasses.

Google it or youtube it and see what comes up!

Would a cooling system help this problem at all? It is summer you know, and it said it was overheating...

A fan shouldn't do any harm as long as its external. My fat 40gb is turned on ALOT on summer, and I constantly check the back to see if the fans are functioning properly. They always are, and the heat coming out of the back is always a minimum for me, even after playing for 5-6 hours+. You might as well try an external cooling system, do everything you can to save your system I guess :(

Yeah, I have tried every single thing you think about before getting the YLOD! nothing works at all!

so it really is possible eh? i heard that people can play burned ps3 games on blu ray-r's. but its almost not worth it because of the size of most ps3 games, and the cost of a blu ray player and blu ray discsDangerHiVoltage
and how much time to spend downloading a single game!!!
