What TV's do they run on? they're years old now and to me they still seem pretty awesome for gaming. I might buy one if they are available.

1) Contrast Ratio: Retail hype. do not believe it. A 10,000:1 Tv drops to about 500:1 the second you turn on the light. That said, any decent tv nowadays has a decent contrast ratio. 5000:1 and higher is good. Also any ~Dynamic contrast ratio~ numbers are totally over blown.

2) Blu -ray vs DVD. The big draw of BD is its 1080p content. If your gonna geta 720p TV then dont worry about it. BD is still great.

3) Brand Names. Sony, Samsung, Pioneer, Panasonic, Sharp. Consider those first. budget brands are budget for a reason, even more so with LCDs and all its inherent problems.

Well as a PC speaker system i'd say its pretty decent as its wattage is higher than my JBL which is pretty darn sweet as it is already. But im pretty sure it does have a optical audio input on that system so you'll be unable to use it with a ps3/360/wii.

Depends on what you intend to use it for.

1080p over component can be done for games but chances are it will be largely unsupported. You should still buy that Full HD tv anyway to future proof your gaming for this gen.

Wrong Forum, but while your here. Uninstall all old drivers, turn off PC, swap the cards, boot up install new drivers and you should be good to go.

There is a lot of talk about 1080p and how its barely even noticable on Tvs below 40 - 42", not to mention there are very few games out at the moment that actualy run in 1080p and not many actually hit the 720p mark even. If your like me and obsessive about having a future proof TV then by all means buy the 1080p one but at 37 inches chances are you wont even notice the upgrade.

Im looking for a 5.1 system (preferably Active Sub/Passive Satelittes) for my yet to be purchased ps3 and my friends 360. While i ~think~ a good few systems come with digital inputs and are Active, the sites (amazon.co.uk) that Ive looked on thus far fail to divulge such information and so I pretty much dunno which one to get :?. Any recommendations? Doesnt have to be top of the line just ...~decent~.
