@lostn: The reason, broad as it is, given out for hike was that "the new pricing reflects the current market conditions." More than anything, it references XBL's price which the hike is just meant to match. But "market conditions" doesn't just pertain to that (price) as by definition it includes the level of competition as a whole (which also includes how your competitors are performing, say, in the quality of its own product). So basically, they're asking for more (which, by the way, is only reasonable considering it isn't more expensive than the competition) for them to keep up--in every meaning of the term. Well, ideally, at least. Which goes back to my previous point: you get what you pay for and it follows that paying more gets you more (And XBL charges more so, yeah). And besides, this is still all subjective. I mean I prefer XBL but there are also others who are happy/ok with PSN for what it is now.

I can forgive them for not going for the specifics--they wouldn't be the first one at it. Companies and businesses do this some for this same reason. Many follow through with the raised expectations; some don't. I don't think Sony would go for the latter, at least not miserably so. And like I said, without seeing the hike's full effects, all frustrations at this point are premature. Besides, you can still purchase subscription at the price pre-hike now and see if there are going to be improvements or not later on--a proper evaluation.

Yes, perception is reality BUT if your video game company is ranked worse than BP and Bank of America (really, EA over BP and BoA?!), you should probably also qualify whose perception is this coming from and if it carries that much significance to begin with. However, I'm not saying EA is a great company either.

Okay. Sooooo can't we just send a whole SWAT team on his ass and take him down just to be sure? I'm thinking if he's really a jihadist, well it'll be all justified; but if he's not, well, he's still a retard. Either way it's justified and the free world will thank us for it.

I kid, of course. I, I couldn't care less really.

Or is just because more old people are using computers now than before? My dad, for one, uses his computer for about 10% facebook, 60% solitaire and 30% just being plain out confused after clicking on something he doesn't know one sh!t about.

@lostn: I wouldn't look at it that negatively, at least, not right away. In businesses offering the same services, price difference more often than not mirrors the quality of service given--pricier one is better; cheaper one not as good. Basically, you get what you pay for and it follows that paying more gets you more. No one's taking clamour as massive as this news got over XBL being pricier since many see it as better than PSN (well, at least, i'm speaking for myself). So like I said, if PSN hikes up its price to XBL's price, then the least we can expect is Sony improving PSN to where XBL's at. If service remains stagnant, then that's the time to get angry. All frustrations at this point just seems too premature.

I admit I prefer XBL and I think it's much better than PSN, but what Sony is doing here is just matching XBL's price. If that translates to PSN's improvement to where XBL is at or perhaps even better then I don't see why this could ever be a bad thing. If you wanna be certain about it, hold off for it in a while and see where this leads to.

We all wanted Silent Hills to push through and many figured there'd be no more metal gear after Kojima. Well, the guys at Konami got creative and shoved a whole lot of Silent Hills up the next MG's ass.

Calling this a "laptop" is a bit too generous. It does away with everything that makes a laptop portable save for having a screen and speakers with it. Other than that, it's basically an xbox you have to lug around. For the price it's going for, as with many below have pointed out, just buy a freaking gaming laptop than can run circles around this thing.

Oh, and what's with the subtitle?

Been waiting for the reviews to come. Kinda hoping there'd be something new introduced that would strike my interest but reading this just confirms that this game is not for me like I initially thought.
