@GMnTraining: Why expect retired players to do that when EA itself is so far away from making this game for that same altruistic purpose? EA doesn't give a damn about (or at the least, prioritize) featuring how great of a player they were as well as letting you and I remember or be introduced to them--it's objective is to sell this game and make tons of money from it. If you can't wrap your head around the legalities of the issue, well, you can simply try to assess it on whether it's equitable or not. I mean, if a multi-million company capitalizes on your face and attributes for it to make a sh1tload of money, isn't it only fair for you to get a slice of the pie?
You can even see EA's shady intentions by looking at the fact that they intentionally left out the players' names because they know very well they have no choice but to pay up if they do otherwise, hoping they can get away with it by a technicality in law. Clearly, EA is just in it for the $$$ and what's shameful is they don't even want to give what's due to the ones they're using to get all this money.
"This seems like a pretty big ask"? The heck, Eddie?! lol If you're going to use this, it's only common sense to put your toddler, pets and all of your other sh1t away unless you want your day to be really sh1tty. Simple diligence isn't that much to ask if you have sound judgement.
On the age limit though: haven't looked into the effects stated here from other sources but if the case is indeed what is said here (or at least, well accepted) then I think having the age restriction lowered to what is more appropriate is just the right thing to do for Sony. After all, class suits can be messy.
@soarlozer: I'm more inclined to Maggie getting the bat instead of Glenn too. On that last episode, it was clear Carol wanted to save Maggie from becoming just like her but it would be so much darker (and better) if their sh1tty world would never let that happen and just kills her off. That and the fact she's pregnant would make it all the more effed up. It would also add another layer of conflict as that'll will definitely make Glenn question Rick's leadership and probably even lead him to go against his longtime ally, maybe to even team up with Morgan to take Alexandria away from Rick--something I don't see Maggie as the best candidate for the job if it was indeed Glenn who'll get Neganed. I admit, the show's getting a little old on me but it still has some punches left. The show has had a phenomenal run but they gotta start working on it having a respectable end.
@waynethejones: Well, of course they have to. If it's a relevant company statement then it lands on the news; if they inserted opinions about the matter (whatever that may be), they become biased.
@PsychicKiller82: Don't wanna flare things up in an already dumb console war, but that doesn't make any sense at all. Why would MS be "ashamed" of their target market's ill-informed (as you suggest) choice? If it is a bad choice as you said it is, then MS would still take a hit for failing to capitalize on their product's "superiority" over their competition's. It's right in front of your face: MS doesn't want to release sales figures because it is disappointing (I'm guessing very much so) when seen next to the PS. And if by some stupid reason that they do release them, prospective buyers would generally choose the more patronized console (PS4) thus making the gap even bigger which then makes their shareholders very unhappy. You don't need to be a fan of a particular platform to acknowledge that.
@JachAnen: i'm aware of that. But more than anything, what i was highlighting is the difference in values: on one hand you have a scientific medical breakthrough benefiting the whole mankind while on the other you have something so ridiculously petty and yet the desire to stamp one's own name and realize profit from it only happens in one--the stupid one at that.
