@taylor_sparks: I get your points, but times change. Wildlands was a blast but was it true Tom Clancy? Not at all. Not even close to Rainbow 6 or the other prior Recon games. Yet it sold out the ass because the gameplay loop was a blast.
I can't speak for the Day 1 version of Breakpoint, but now it's awesome. I don't see the problem of looter-shooter-izing this game, it plays fine and isn't annoying when picking up weapons. It does exactly what Wildlands did....except without radio stations, the game is too quiet. Aside from that, the game is FUN, which I can't say for heralded games like The Witcher 3.
I know you don't like where Ubi is going in the future but their sales numbers prove otherwise. More people are wanting their games like AC and Ghost Recon to get more RPG-y, and I think they're better games for it. They might be worse in terms of narrative/story, but they make up for it tenfold by making the game FUN with FUN mechanics and systems.
AC was torture to play until they revamped it with Origins. And now, knowing they're cleaning house with their writers, the stories will only get better along with the narratives.
I really don't get the hate for Breakpoint. I can't stop playing it. I look at my other games like Outer Worlds, AC Odyssey, I have a million games to play but can't stop playing Breakpoint.
Just do what I do with Ubi games: DON'T. BUY. AT. LAUNCH.
Just wait a few months, it'll be half the price and twice as good with patches. When it comes to Ubi live games like Division and Wildlands, I always wait. Why pay $60 for a broken game when you can pay $30 and get a wayyyyy more polished experience?
