Gamespot kind of messed up a few big game review scores in 2016 (giving many games a simple 8/10, like giving Watch dogs 2, Dishonored 2 and Pokemon Sun/Moon each 8/10 -.-... while D2 & Pokemon S/M >>WD2)...
at least they should get the GOTY right, which should be DARK SOULS 3... (and not Overwatch, Doom or Titanfall 2...)

btw. why does Wikipedia say Titanfall 2 won the video games goty award? Overwatch won it.. (not the first time I saw BS in Wikipedia about Titanfall.., does EA have such BS fans write such stuff in wikipedia??)
if you wikipedia "List of Game of the Year awards" and scroll down the list of the different GOTY awards (starting with 1UP.com, British Academy Games Awards, Crash, Crispy Gamer, DICE, EDGE etc...., futher down "The Game Awards (Formerly: Spike Video Game Awards)" says Titanfall 2 won.. which is BS, Overwatch won)

Pokemon have never looked better (Art & Animations).., the pacing, areas (structures) and "unexpected" moments (and items) are done better than any other Pokemon before... and "backtracking" (for the unexpected), before the endgame, is now almost on a level of other RPGs (not normal for Pokemon games), and doing it while riding Pokemon is fun as ever... ,
8/10 is seriously the lowest the game could have gotten...
Pokemon Go wins mobile videogame of the year, but is leagues worse then this Pokemon.. (imo Sun/Moon is possibly the best Pokemon in 3D ever...)
besides Dark Souls 3, Pokemon Sun/Moon is RPG of the year
(wouldn't say that to every new Gen Pokemon)
EDIT:
recommend to watch the first few episodes of the new Pokemon Sun/Moon anime (at least till you get to see/know all the starter pokemon in the anime.... or a bit more),.. to get a deeper feeling of the Pokemon (and NPC) "characters/behaviours"... giving the game more depth and fun xD..., somewhat like watching the FFXV anime episodes and the FFXV film before playing FFXV..
(I can't hold thru many Pokemon episodes at a time.. but just the first few of the new season offers like more depth to the new Pokemon and NPCs in the game..., and it's easy to play Pokemon parallel while watching them episodes..)
after the imo too low scores of Dishonored 2 and Pokemon sun/moon, both got 8/10 from Gamespot (imo both deserve at least 9/10)..,
but after playing FFXV for a while now, I agree with Gamespot this time, FFXV is a good 8-8.5/10... (but don't agree on the pros/cons gamespot gave...,, it's story and characters are strong, it's open world is weak)
it has flaws and SE needs more experience in the "open world" build up (and Bayonetta-ish action), but FFXV is still a truly special experience (!) and better than FFXIII
(but really recommend to watch the FFXV movie and all the anime episodes, before starting it!)
XCX is great.. but can't trully say if its better than the first/Wii XC.., but love both...
(both are the best JRPGs on "big" consoles.. , well bisides Monster Hunter and Dark Souls,.. but when it comes to "party/story" JRPGs, its the best.... but Etrian Odyssey is Epic too (but only handheld).... and hear the last Persona isgreat too..
hope DQXI will be epic too, like DQVIII was back then..., didn't like DQIX much though..
and have high hopes for the new Tales of Berseria (seems to be a good one, like Xillia resp. even better..)
dunno which Xenoblade is better, 1 or 2...., but even if I like FFXV, both Xenos are better...
still FFXV is special and worth experiencing.... just SE needs to get used to making such open world RPGs (and get used making such "Bayonetta" action too).. with time, they'll make them better...
of the nominated goty, overwatch did deserve it the most...., but Dishonored 2 and Dark Souls 3 are still better...
Prey needs to pimp up its grafix more or it wont hype... the old prey back then looked gorgeous, the reboot needs to have a similar effect... clever gameplay isnt enough anymore (unless it's from Nintendo.., but even Nintendo is fighting)
