[QUOTE="nnavidson"][QUOTE="Socrates88"] So what you saying is 360 has too much momentum for the PS3 to catch up? Also, you still didn't answer my first question. Do you want me to ask you again? The question was 360 owners had to wait over a year to get a strong line-up of RPGs, but when a PS3 owner has to wait a year for a strong list of RPGs, it's a bad thing. How does that make sense?Socrates88
No. I think the 360 could be doing much better. I'm saying the PS3 doesn't have enough momentum to catch up, unless things change. Things might change, but there is no evidence of that yet.
bold text...Bold my text all you want. I want a PS3, just not enough to buy one at $500.
[QUOTE="nnavidson"][QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="nnavidson"]About waiting? Let put this in propective please. Thos games you say that's coming out will be in 2007-2008, right? The 360 launch in 2005, right? Now if PS3 waited for a list RPG in 2008, and was release in 2006? Tell me, how does that looks bad with the PS3, if it's the same time frame?[QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="Nugtoka"]Ah yes let the waiting continueSocrates88
Instead of reposting my starting argument in every thread that I see this mistake being made, I'll quote them in this one.
LOL. That post has nothing to do with this topic. All I'm saying is the why is PS3 waiting a bad thing, when Xbox360 is waiting as well? You think the tortoise can really beat a rabbit with a head start? lol, wake up dude you in a fairy tale.Yes, when the rabbit is limping. The PS3 isn't showing enough momentum to catch up. It may gain that momentum, but nothing has happened to prove that.
How is it lacking momentum when the sales showing it starting off faster than the 360? Do you not understand that? I think what got you so confuse it the fact there are plenty of supply of the PS3. $600 is still a bargain hard to swallow, but don't think people don't want it, thus the 1.9 million in sales. Don't get caught up on internet slander or anti-PS3 sites. The reality is most people see the PS3 as a great system that is selling well. Sony(SNE) past month stocks went up 10% showing a good sign of progress in the year of the PS3 launch.First of all, Sony's game division is losing 100's of millions each quarter over the past year. It lost 1 billion over the course of a year. That's the price of investing in new technology, so it's not shocking, but the PS3 is currently losing Sony, not making it.
Second of all, did you read the first post in this thread. The 360 is currently selling better than the PS3. Everything before November can be considered a head start for the 360.
The PS3 has great potential. If I had an HD television, I would buy one now for BluRay. I don't, and neither does the majority of the world. I want a PS3, but not at $500. It doesn't matter how much interest there is in a system, if the general cosumer public doesn't have enough interest to spend the retail price.
[QUOTE="nnavidson"]You still advoiding my question. Not ALL consumers will buy a next-gen system this year too.[QUOTE="Socrates88"][QUOTE="nnavidson"] Not all 360 owners are Lemmings. Not all Playstation owners are cows. The majority of people buy video game systems to play games. If you like RPGs and want to purchase a next gen system this year, the 360 is the obvious choice.Socrates88
To more directly answer your question, I didn't buy a 360 at launch because it didn't have enough games to warrant a purchase from me. Now it does, both released and in the pipeline. The PS3 is now in that situation, but in a much worse place. It doesn't have time to start the ball rolling. The 360 is already in full momentum releasing and announcing promising games for $200 less.

[QUOTE="nnavidson"][QUOTE="Raz-1"][QUOTE="klabut"]I do agree people should wait but the ps3 has already been out for over 4 and a half months and has only sold like a million and a half...InfamousC
Do people need reminding that PS3 aint even out in Europe yet? Europe is huuuuuge compared to USA and Japan, and its the most eager country that wants the ps3.
Once the PS3 is officially out worldwide, then fanboys should start nit picking.
Things can change. I personally feel that the PS3 is going to become a worthwhile purchase by 2008. That's not set in stone though, and right now 360 is way out ahead.
That is your opinion. I'm sure there will be about 8-10 million people that disagree with you.
Right now it's fact. The PS3 has potential but hasn't delivered. The 360 is delivering and offers continued potential through 2008.
[QUOTE="nnavidson"][QUOTE="diggyzoom"]Monster Kingdom , that is about it.
But do you expect playstation fans to bail on White Night Story and 2 Final Fantasy games for the 360s jrpgs ?
Socrates88
I think people get Playstation owners with playstation fans. Last generation, xbox and gamecube had hardly any rpg's. The PS2 was the obvious choice. That's not the case this generation. White Night Story doesn't have any more merit over the 360 jrpgs. Rpg fans will want to play the Final Fantasy games, but it's highly likely we'll have to wait close to two more years for it.
If rpg's are the genre of your choice, you're better off waiting a couple years on a PS3.
And you think waiting is a bad thing? It's the early adoptors that build the momentum for everyone else. If everyone waits, there's nothing worth waiting for.
